Thanks to everyone for your continued prayers. I did receive separation papers. I will not be discussing anything legal in this thread though. Just keep me and my family in your prayers.

Indeed, especially when it wasn't that way when we got married, but I fear is now the case.

The stress is taking its toll on me. I have lost over 40 lbs, and had an emergency colonoscopy to figure out some digestive issues. Turns out I have a digestive condition too. Eye doctor said I have glaucoma as well. Then my hours at work just got reduced too.

I still have much to be thankful for though, praise God.

My final parting gift was bleeding ulcers in my small intestines... Plus my gall bladder finally had enough of me too. Been taking Nexium since but without the stress of her, the ulcers went away
My vision was affected by my high blood pressure... then I blew my knee out and 2 weeks after the divorced was final, I was laid off.

All of that happened and while it was no fun at the time, I now have a wife that loves me and we share the same beliefs and while nothing is perfect... she is an incredible blessing to me and my entire family

May the Lord continue to bless you !!!

My father used to say ... "Remain calm while the room is in motion"

You're a good guy for your commitment, and trying as hard as you did to make things better. I believe if you put good out, it'll come back. Might not be right away, or with this woman, but don't let this break down who you are

Small update. Meds are working on my colon issues and I am feeling better. Went to an eye specialist and he said negative on the glaucoma, just on the high side for pressure and enlarged optic nerve. Meds for colon are causing the elevated pressure in the eyeballs.

Letting go and letting God sounds like a generic quote but it's exactly what saved my marriage that was beyond salvageable. It's never to late or to hard if He Is in control.
Praying for your family and health.

Well ladies and gents, the update I have been neglecting to post. I am now a divorcee. I didn't go down without a fight. A fight for my marriage and for my daughter. There was simply nothing I could do to change my wife's mind, it was made up this time. She actually requested court hearings spaced in the minimal time allowed by the state to get divorced as fast as possible. I tried to get her to seek help for our marriage all the way until the end, actually even asked her about counseling after we were divorced since I hadn't found out yet the judge signed.

I also fought and got my exact 50/50 custody. This gives me every bit the chance to influence my daughter that I can. I will not let her down, not in this.

So I have been figuring this all out now. Single dad, living alone, cooking/cleaning for myself, etc. Its tough, but I am getting the hang of it. I now at least know what to expect out of a normal Monday, etc.

Please continue to keep my "family" in your prayers. The last several months have been no doubt the hardest of my life, things are getting better, but I know I am still not in the clear. Please pray for me to have the strength I need to get through this and be strong for my girl. Also please pray for my ex-wife. She acts like this is the best thing that could have happened, almost like a rite of passage for a marriage. She has been seeing other people during the last few months of things, and not unpacking or dealing with her emotions. She is totally consumed with anger when she speaks to or deals with me, despite my continued kindness. She took nothing reminding her we ever happened. No dating pictures, no wedding photos or dress, no family photos with our daughter. Just act like we never happened. This is a recipe for disaster and I pray she deals with things, in a healthy manner, as she will be the role model my daughter sees half the time too.

And finally please pray for my daughter. She has been a trooper through all of this. OF course she is young enough she really doesn't understand the impact this will have on her entire life. That's the hardest part for me is mourning the future I wanted to provide for her. The family things and events that just wont be.

Anyways, I'm trying not to ramble, but there's been ALOT going on in my life. All in all, I thank God for my faith, my health, my career, and my family. Despite the current circumstances, things could be worse.

Sorry, sucks now but sometimes people are in your life just for a short bit. Her short role could have been so you have your daughter. I know it is difficult with her being angry towards you, but what really matters is if she is good to your daughter and you embrace every moment you have with her. Keep your head up and focus on you and your daughter and everything after that will fall into place

I'm sorry things came to an end between y'all- I can see from what you said, that you really cared and were trying to make things work as best you could. Even though it is regrettable that you guys have split, I am glad to see that you managed to retain 50% custody. That's often a hard thing for a man to get, at least where I live. Here, they almost always side with the mother, even if she's got a criminal record in many cases. (I know a few, unfortunately.)
Hopefully things will get better for everyone involved. I'll be praying for all of you, man. Best wishes.

Very sorry to hear. My wife just moved out a few weeks ago, doesn't even seem that she cares or what's to try to repair the few problems we have. Sounds similar to your situation. Extremely hard to cope with everything. I've been doing everything I can to try and make this work, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to have any effect. My wife just recently lost her mom, who wasn't really there much for her growing up, however she seemed to take the loss very hard. I'm hoping she can work her emotions out. I've offered counseling both marriage and personal if she wants but she refused. I'm hoping and praying my marriage doesn't end like that. When I said I do, I mean it until the day we depart from death. I pray it's a phase she's going through and she starts to realize some things soon. She's just been a total different person, even her best friend see's it. Marriage is extremely hard these days. People find it easier to run from their problems and emotions then to deal with them. Too many people think the grass is greener on the other side. Sometimes you just need to water your lawn

Minor update...more later in the week. A judge will be ruling tomorrow where my daughter will start school in the fall. 50/50 custody situation is still the same. But the situation at her mom's isn't great IMHO. My ex got remarried this spring to some guy she met last fall. He has a young boy that shares a room with my daughter at times etc (shes been warned that's a no-no, but that's not what's up for discussion at this time). There are many many factors including quality of education that set the school system by me (where we used to live!!!!) far above the schools where she now lives, yet she has made this come down to a court battle again. I'm so tired of arguing and spending money, but I will fight for my daughter 100%. If she attends the schools by me I can return to a normal work schedule by having the ability to get bus service at my house too. I've been working long days on Monday and Tuesdays, burning PTO by the handful, all so I can take half days every Wed, Thurs, and every other Friday when I have my daughter. I'm not sure where I would take her if I could actually use it as vacation time once again...but I'm sure she would have fun.

So please lift ALL of us up in your prayers tomorrow morning around this time. Pray for clarity of thought and wisdom for the judge please. Pray for peace and patience for me and the ex no matter the outcome. And most importantly please continue to lift Eva up in your prayers. Thanks guys/gals

Not sure why I haven't noticed this thread prior to this morning, but....

at any rate, my prayers and positive thoughts for you, your daughter, and your entire family. I went through a divorce more than 30 years ago. 2 kids in that mix. Long story short, we made it through to this point, both kids turned out well, I met someone else and now have a VERY happy life. I won't try to tell you that I know what you're going through....NO ONE besides you knows that. But I can tell you that you'll do what's best for your child, and things will work out in the future. You have the one thing that makes a difference....You CARE. Hang in there. Always remember there are people who are pulling for you. Never hesitate to ask for help if you need it. And keep the faith.
