Can we figure out once and for all what works and what doesn't? There are a million case on Amazon. I bought one and right out of the box it doesn't work. So my question:

Iphone 6s. Slimmest case that works in a Tacoma with Qi charging pad. How much, and exact link on Amazon.

    Cool. Lets try this again:

My post: Iphone 6s. Slimmest case that works in a Tacoma with Qi charging pad. How much, and exact link on Amazon.

First response: iPhones themselves don't support Qi charging. You need a case that will do it.

    One more time...
Anyone know the exact iPhone 6s case that works on the Qi charging pad in the 2016 tacoma? We have clearly established a case is required for iphone. I am asking about WHICH case works? And of course Link for said case.

To answer your question, here is the thinnest case that also provides enough protection I could find that works fantastic with the qi charger in the Tacoma.

    http://www.amazon.com/Built-In-Wireless-Receiver-Gunmetal-Protection/dp/B00W5YVDCI

This exact case is on my phone as we speak and has charged flawlessly with my truck and my qi stand at home for the past 3 months.

There are slim Qi adapters which plug into the charge port on the iPhone 6/6S($10 on eBay). They advertise that you can put a case over it. The problem is you can't put a case on your phone, false advertising. It kinda worked with a slim case but I ended returning the adapter because that case offered almost no protection for my phone.

Awesome. Thanks everyone. I ordered the one from Amazon but then saw this post. Cancelled Amazon order and ordered the toyota one. If it doesn't work im going to the dealer with my toyota truck and my toyota case and saying "here, fix it!!" No arguments.

    Thanks again.

Also remember that the Qi wireless charging pad in the taco only HOLDS the charge on your phone. It does not power up your phone.

ahhhh! avoid!!! That's the exact one I bought! I was so mad. Flat out doesn't work. Sent it back to Amazon and gave them a bad review. Do you have that one? Apple intentionally doesn't play nice with other manufacturers, so it's tough to find stuff like this that works 100% of the time. I can't wait to see if this Toyota Branded case works. It's funny, i wouldn't care about wireless charging if it wasn't for the fact that my truck came with it. So why not use it??

I get it in a couple days. Let's see what happens....

I haven't bought it yet, I'm still looking at various cases. For me, something that isn't huge but is protective matters.

Uh, good luck with that. I fail to see how a phone that doesn't support specific charging system in a vehicle is somehow the vehicle manufacturers problem. Thats like saying my aftermarket rim and tire combo won't balance right so I'm gonna go after Toyota to fix it. Sound logic!

Hey that is awesome! Some peoples expectations are that it will charge just as fast as being plugged in, just wanted to inform some of the guys on here that the official Toyota claim is that it will hold a charge.

Well...I have the Samsung Galaxy 6S Edge Plus...It took about 45 minutes from less than 5% to fully charged....I might take 30 minutes if plugged into the wall

I bought this one for my 6, the qi bit works great in the truck - http://www.amazon.com/Spigen®-Wireless-Receiver-Gunmetal-Protection/dp/B00W5YVDCI

Moderately annoying that the Tacoma's little illumination light in that area reflects off the screen and back at me when I'm looking at it, would much rather have had ambient lighting in the glove box instead, but that's a weak thing to cry about to much...

Good protection for the phone, enough friction that it doesn't feel like it's going to slip out when I'm holding it and doing things with just one hand. However, the bottom was a oddly sharp, was irritating my pinky finger which I naturally put under the phone when I'm holding it. Bit of filing and it's smooth now, not sure why it didn't come that way from Spigen but got annoying real fast. If I had a choice I'd just switch to an android and forget the case all together, but I don't want to hi-jack the thread ;)

So if you bought a TRD supercharger you wouldn't go to the dealer if it had a problem and insisted that the TRD supercharger work with the Toyota engine? If you bought Toyota Mud flaps and they didn't bolt on you wouldn't go to the dealer? If you bought Toyota Floor mats and they didn't fit, you wouldn't go to the dealer? If Toyota sells a product for a specific device such as an iphone; then yes, i believe they would have an obligation to support it. Further, they have an obligation to the guy that wrote a $40K check to make him happy. And believe me, they have and they will continue to do so.

Whatever. I don't understand why people are so condescending and confrontational. Your comment accomplished nothing. It didn't contribute. It didn't help others. It simply caused me to waste my time typing a response that you likely can't comprehend.

I've been on this site for a couple weeks. Posted only a few things. Received some great comments from some decent people. Also read a lot of juvenile, incoherent time wasting comments that everyone could have gone without. You sir, are the kind of person that contributes nothing other than grief. If you were to stop talking, the world would not miss you; in fact, it would likely brighten just a little bit more. I truly hope i don't have to read another response from you, because it would force me to do one of two things: 1) dumb down yet anther response so you can try to keep up, or 2) control my own impulse to type another response like this one. Either way, I waste my time.
