I wouldn't think running a light bar on the highway is legal, but I'm guessing most do it for the off-road use

You're not going to rub. It'll be completely fine as I've had this setup before I lifted it. Check out the Lifted '16 Tacoma's thread for my post.

    Thanks for the suggestions fellas!

The recovery gear is a good idea. I only have an SR but still go off road quite a bit.

Still need a hitch receiver but waiting on the dual socket plug to be obtainable..

Already have a light bar for the lower grille. Waiting on my brackets from the madman to install it.

I live in the woods, loads of people out here have light bars and other LEDs, but people around here also show respect for the most part. This is a little town where everyone waves to everyone, and you likely grew up with the person driving up the road...

I can't recall a single time I seen anyone using their light bar on paved roads around other traffic. But other locations are different I'm sure.

I think the law here in VA is that any light, that is not factory installed, must be covered while driving on a public road. I received a $125 ticket a few years back when I first moved here.

I like that Raceface one a lot but I didn't know if it would line up right with the tailgate release.

The Dakine one is an updated design so it does line up when installed correctly and it has a soft velour-ish feel to the back which I keep as clean as possible.

Glad to see you are happy with the Raceface one, they make good stuff.

Here's what I've been up to. Not much, but it's enough to keep me occupied.
Camo Vinyl Inserts for the Tailgate
    "GRUMPY" hitch cover
Ammo Box on the bed rails for storage.

Love the ammo locker! Did you take the cleat off the bedside? I've been toying with mounting a rudimentary first aid kit in an ammo box, like yours but unlocked, maybe with a red cross on it...

Nope! Just took off the small end cap and used some carriage bolts to attach the box. Moved the clear forward so that I would still have it if I needed it.

    I used this switch http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...id=1455061643&ref_=sr_1_3&s=automotive&sr=1-3
    and this wiring harness: http://www.amazon.com/OPT7-Offroad-...061736&sr=1-6&keywords=led+wiring+harness+kit
And I used a 5" L bracket I got from Lowes to mount it.

I've seen a couple companies make just a tailgate mat but I would like some input on the best options for this too.
