Its a different wheel. Different offset and backspace. I mean it's not much different specs but just enough I guess.

Or maybe his alignment could be so out of wack that it actually fits. Hence the quick wear of his previous tires?

Maybe those tires just run a bit smaller than most 285's :notsure:

I'm no pro here, so maybe the others can correct me if I'm wrong. But wheel spacers make no sense if you are hitting the body. Your problem looks to be solved by removing wheel spacers. Offset and spacers = body contact if my math is correct. That said, if you hit the UCA you will need to increase the offset, so its a balance.

A lift will have nothing to do with UCA contact or not, if my math is correct. Again, a pro could correct me. Pics coming.

Its only got 12,000 kms and nobody but the factory has touched them. The EXO Grapplers are those All Weather Tires, my recommendation, don't run them in the summer and drive with much passion!

I think that is probably the case. They look a bit small on the rack, skinny really. Which is why I picked them

I searched forever to see if a 305/65/17 would clear with just a set of billies and no UCA's. I Could never find a solid answer so I went for it and didn't have any issues except for the little bit of trimming in the front of the fenderwell. I am running the pro comps as well. Truck looks good BTW!

    enough to go over stuff
With the lift and spacers I didn't rub till I went offroad. Photo was a long time ago. Now I have a 35s without spacers.

I knew someone who had 285/75/r16's without any problems they said they rubbed a little turning sharp but it wasn't a issue since they didn't do any wheeling.

Had issues with rubbing in the front but it was just the plastic. Trimmed it and haven't had any issues since.
Of course camping, forest roads and dirt backroads is about it as far as off road goes for me, so far.

Yeah I can see that happening if your off road but for just a everyday driver you will be fine.

    No lift, bone stock.

When I do mild wheeling I rubbed so I removed the flaps on the front (not the little venting ones) and haven't rubbed since. When I look at the UCA I can see where I think the tire is just barely touching at full lock... I can get a piece of paper in there when testing it but something about driving must be making it touch the UCA sometimes. That's the update. :)

Crazy how different our trucks are from one to another. My 2015 OR DC 4X4 rubs unmercifley with 285 70 17's, but I carry a lot of weight.

    exactly what I was thinking

right, it’s a balance. I needed spacers to stop rubbing my frame and UCAs for 35s. But spacers push the tire closer to the cab mounts. So it’s a trade off.
