OK, this may generate some rebuttal, but here goes. For some reason, I seem to always have the sun at the top rear corner of the side window. The glare on the back of my sun glasses is very annoying. This base Taco has visors that don't extend, and my Highlander visors don't extend far enough anyway. I have resorted to to that static cling film on the glass at times, which does help. I don't want dark tinted Windows, which would be the first thought I'm sure. I'd be the one that gets the Fix it Ticket. I would like to mount a 2nd visor on the cab structure, aft of the door top rear corner. That way I could move the original back to cover part of the issue, and move the new one forward to cover the rear part. This could work, but the idea of mounting anything near an air bag it a bit scary. If not just because of the mount, mostly because if it deployed while the visor was at the side. I expect to disable that bag, as I am serious about the modification. I have already put the exterior shade plastics on the truck, but they really don't get the job done. Anyone else care, and have a method that works well for them?

If you keep your sunglass lenses super clean you will get a lot less glare on the lenses.

Also, there are sunscreens that suction cup to the glass.

Is there any way you can adjust your route or the time of day that you travel so the sun is not in the problematic position?

Thanks for the ideas. There are no handles to mount those flip up visors, but they sure look nice. With the static film, or suction cup roll down shades, you can't roll the window down when mounted, so it's on and off. Of course the "on" needs to happen unplanned while driving......... I wonder if Dark Tint only at the top of the glass would last when the glass goes down? Wearing a Hat is one simple answer !!

Exactly the case here. So I'm wondering if just doing the top of the door glass wouldn't be a good answer. If it scratched or peeled rolling down over time, that would be the next issue.

I dunno, try some different sunglasses? I've encountered the same problem. Wraparound sunglasses solved it for me.

That was my first thought. "Glacier Glasses" are a style specially designed to stop sun from coming in the sides.

What if you used some of those strong black paper clip jobbers to clip a peice of cardboard to the visor to extend it where you need to cover. It's a little hokey but quick and easy to remove and a lot less work than trying to safely mount another visor. Something like this.

Are you making sure to get the anti-glare film on the inside of the lenses?

I recently got a new pair of Ray Bans and they are farther away from my face on the sides than my previous pair. I got the anti-glare put on the inside and it really helped prevent light from coming in the sides and getting reflected into my eyes.

You also can get nearly clear nano ceramic window film that really helps cut out sharp glare.

I have high quality tint on the back and side windows that are within the legal limits as well as a clear film along the inside of the windshield. All block considerable amounts of UV - 99.5% - and make the cab of my truck a much more comfortable place to be.

For very sunny days combined with quality lensed sunglasses, I no longer have problems with my sensitive eyes and squinting is now reserved for the mental midgets that keep their high beams on.

Same here. I have all nano ceramic film on every window and it has made a huge difference in terms of my eyes.
Have not tested out the heat rejection though because of the winter. We'll see how that does.

I agree get a different style sunglass that has larger temples. Costa Blackfins or something similar. They will do prescription and make sure you get polarized.

I have to say I am surprised by the number of suggestions, and responses. I expected some "Wussy" comments and not much constructive thinking.
I have not done any tint before, so the info on the clear is interesting. My Sunglasses are anti-reflective, but they are like the aviator style, so no blocking at the temples. I may have to get the Goggles I see coming out of the retirement center. The post was equally intended between lense glare and heat on the head. I just figured that if I killed the Rays at the top of the window, it would take care of both. That nano ceramic film must be great for back of the head relief from the rear windows! I need to do a web education on that stuff.
