I have a 2015 Camry hybrid also. It has a factory installed remote start system.

So, when I ordered my truck 16 DCSB TRD OR, I specifically requested factory installed auto tailgate lock (port option) as well as a remote start. Both options cost less than the factory bed cover ($650).

I do not know what part number it is, merely that I press the lock button 3 times and the truck starts. All other options work fine, and when I leave the truck and use the sensor switch on the door handle the truck locks, including my tailgate and camper.

    Not factory installed.

    Dealer installed.

Please be accurate for the sake of future readers.

That is amazing. If you ever find the part numbers, please share. I would love to look into this item and possibly purchase.

So... You are positive that it wasn't a port install item?

    Nobody has shown otherwise.

If it's a factory option, it can be seen on the Build a Tacoma webpage.

If it isn't there, it's a dealer option or regional option.

I am quite sure that it was put on at the port.

But, you seem to know more than me. I just know that the truck in my driveway has remote start that is covered under my factory warranty and works with my factory fob.

Not hating on you, just trying to prevent further confusion.

And by further confusion, you still mean that port installs aren't "factory" options...

Most of the add ons like bed covers and floor mats aren't installed until the port.

Also, the Toyota VIP remote starter is actually a Toyota part. The difference in having the factory remote start installed is the warranty. Viper, or any other DEI branded product or another competitor isn't covered by the manufacturer of the car... 3rd party installs are always a risk, yes they pay off often, but just go hang out at a shop that does aftermarket accessories and count how regularly mistakes are made.
