    What he said^^^^
Your frame was not made by Dana. Your OK:fingerscrossed: There is a reason Dana lost the contract and doesn't make Tacoma frames anymore.

I made one of these to wash under my frame during the winter. It hooks up to the garden hose and there's holes drilled in the cross piece with little homemade nozzles. Cheap, easy to make and works great.

    Nice
But if you live in the rust belt you don't wash your car in your driveway in the winter, lest you want a skating rink:eek:

New trick for you; run the hose to the laundry tub in the basement, and feed it HOT water. Now instead of contributing to a skating rink, it will actually remove the skating rink that is already there!

That happen last year. It was so cold so long we had ice and snow for most of the winter. This yr. it's completely different so I just do it when it's above freezing. But your right about the ice, pick your days when it's above freezing to do this.

Boy that sounds expensive:eek: Lot easier and probably less costly to get a underflush at the car wash.
Great idea for summer washes though:thumbsup: (using cold water)

Gang,I'm well aware of the frame issues and who makes what. For the record, mines a 15'. To the OP,just be proactive. Hit the self serve car wash once a week. Get down and powerwash your frame, pay particular attention to the inside of it.

if its any consolation chevy and ford and dodge/ram are having the same type of issues.
too much calcium in the road salt being put down on the roads.
i am not convinced that beet juice sin't some of the cause of it either.

i have had many customers in all types of cars and trucks with severe frame damage and rot.
best advice i have is frequent car washes.(underbody wash)
    maybe undercoating would help.

:anonymous: pretty soon laws will be in place where toyota has to tell buyers that tacomas are not suitable to be used in wet or snowy conditions as they may rot out.....

I don't think they teach these kids how to drive in slick conditions. Just throw more salt on the roads and let technology take up the slack. I was following a Camry the other day with a little snow on the roads (I was still in 2H) he/she would come into the corners 45/50MPH then brake. I was waiting for them to slide into oncoming traffic (morning rush) or the cornfield.

This is why I love natural selection. Society can try to pad life as much as possible, but the dumbest will always be weeded out one way or another. The sad thing is that the dumbest endanger the rest, but hey that is the price of life I suppose.

Hmm. My 2009 is in good shape with only some light surface rust at weld joints. Were all 2009+ the new manufacturer, or is there a way to tell?

Well I wanted to do some kind of person protection on my own like fluid film before this winter but ran out of time. Best bet, just crawl under the truck and try to keep it clean and regular car washes that clean the underbody. Only guarantees in life are taxes and death lol.
