I believe the general consensus on this site is you should now get a plate bumper. Hope your Tacoma gets patched up quickly.

Thanks, I had thought about it. I'm waiting to see what the adjuster says. Once we agree on an amount, I'll see what I end up doing. As of right now it looks like I'll be buying the stock bumper all new plastic trim and new rear spoilers and having it painted/faded to match.

That hitch looks naked without the protection of SpareBumper.

I would do something like that but I've been planning to drop the hitch. It was on the truck when I bought it, but I'm never going to use it. The hitch is what saved the tailgate and tail lights though.

I'll take the spoiler piece over the exhaust if you plan on swapping that for new.

This works better. You can tow the offending party home, pry it off of your ass-end, and part out the offender's vehicle for some beer money. The grille and rad would be a write-off, of course.

So @thonyy8 .You grafted the lower skin of 2016 tailgate to your original tail gate . Nice job . Might want to do this in the future .

My last truck got hit in back twice, both times at a red light, stupid punks on the phone. One made out ok with minor grill damage, the other lost his grill and radiator. I got a scratch on the trailer ball, I told them both to stay off the phone, and to get lost. I installed the ball mount on my taco as soon as I got it, just in case.
