Better peripheral vision, cleared a house with it in both positions and I have a lot better peripheral vision with it further up.

Anyone who has the M&P Shield 9mm, happy with it? Price wise, it's great but anything else you guys like about it or not like? I read some people don't like the slide when they are breaking the gun down.

I would like to know as well. And to add to it, how do you like the trigger? I've been thinking of selling my kahr cw9 to get a shield or glock 43.

As a true Glock fanboy I love mine, no plans at all to replace it with a 43. I even dislike the full size m&p and love it. Keep in mind I haven't shot a 43 so I can't compare, but the shield shoots awesome for me. Surprisingly usable for its size. Never had a problem reliability wise either.

Not sure what you are referring to on breakdown, it doesn't seem any different to me than anything else. If you are talking about the goofy lever for breakdown you can pull the trigger instead like a Glock, which is what I do. Never bothered with it.

As far as the trigger goes I like it, and I hated the full size m&p trigger, although I hear the newer ones are better. Nice and smooth (at least it is now, I don't remember it being gritty from the box) with a very predictable break.

The only thing about mine I don't like is that it has a thumb safety. Now they make them without one. But it is very stiff so the likelihood of it working against gravity and engaging is low, but it's still something I wish they would have given the option in the first place.

    At least it wasn't a 380.

I pocket carried a S&W 637 for years. Picked up a Shield last year and now it's my carry gun. 8+1 rounds of 9mm in a very shootable package (that's 80% more rounds without a reload.) I pocket carry in slacks or belt carry in jeans. The Shield breaks down just like an XD and basically like a Glock - empty the gun, lock the slide back, throw the lever, release the slide, pull the trigger. Nothing to it. I have replaced the front sight with a green FO sight, but otherwise have left it stock. The trigger is fine and is not a hindrance to accuracy. I think if there is any complaint it might be that it's not really a micro pistol like I consider a G43 or the 938 to be. That's actually what I like about it though - it's big enough to get a good grip on and get some good accuracy out of. And it's not unpleasant to shoot, which means it gets shot often at the range.

I pocket carry a S&W 637 as well and I love it. Now did you say you pocket carry the shield as well? Not too big for that?

The thumb safety is why I held off on one for a long time. Nothing against manual safeties but I learned without them so I like to keep consistent.

It's a bit larger since it's more squared off than a 637, but yes - I pocket carry any time I'm wearing slacks. Not really ideal for pocket carry with the smaller pockets in most jeans though.

This is the one Sig pistol I've never been able to shoot straight. I probably just need some more trigger time with one, but I'm all over the place with them.

What's everyone's opinion on the ammo from freedom munitions? I just shot some for the first time today. I put 100 rounds of their new (not remanufactured) .45 230 gr ammo through my new Sig P320 today. Out of 100 rounds I had 3 failure to feeds and one round where the striker hit the primer but the round did not fire (a second strike did fire the round). At this point I'm not sure whether to blame the ammo, my shooting form, or the firearm for the miscues? I don't have much experience shooting firearms chambered in .45 and have not fired any rounds through the P320 previously. I'd tend to blame the failure to feeds on my shooting form except I havent had that issue EVER on any of a number of firearms, ammo manufacturers, bullet weights etc. having shot thousands of rounds in my lifetime. I'm hoping it's just the ammo. I plan to run some different (better) ammo through the P320 to see if the problems persist. If anyone has any thoughts, advice, reviews, etc. it would be greatly appreciated.

Ive shot a few hundred rounds of their reman, only had one or two that didnt shoot. Primer was striked, just never fired. Chalked it up to a bad primer. Id buy again
