Hi everyone. Log time lurker and first post.
Thanks up front for all the great info I've already read. And sorry for the long winded post.
I will start by saying I have already searched and am pretty sure I know what the problem is. When I drive at speeds at or above 60 (which is not that often) there is a god awful noise coming from all around the windshield. Like LOUD! Sounds and feels like I am going off the road and hit the warning humps (or whatever they are called) along with a very loud noise spanning the entire windshield.
I have taken my truck, which only has 4,000 miles on it, two separate occasions to Toyota of wilmington. The first time the tech that drove it said he definitely heard it. He said it scared him it was so loud and violent. He said there was a TSB (only up to 2012 models) for the windshield needing re-sealing. He said no worries, that it was covered under warranty and a common problem.
I had to make a second appointment so another tech could drive it to confirm the noise.
Several days later I returned and dropped off the truck for a total of 2 1/2 days. They told me that it was bad weather stripping on the passenger side not the windshield. Their "master" tech was the one that confirmed that.
I dropped it off the following week to have the weatherstripping replaced. I voiced my concern about the noise coming from the windshield not the passenger side. Don't worry they said "we have fixed the problem" and that it was definitely not the windshield but just the weatherstripping. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and took my truck.
For the next few days all was good. Though my daily commute is only a couple of miles in stop and go city traffic, as in I rarely break 40-45 mph.
Low and behold, today as I was driving my mother in law down the short stretch of interstate on our way to the airport. Bam! It started again. So loud and abrupt I thought she was going to have a heart attack (somewhat funny due to it being my mother in law) but I was also infuriated to say the least.
I know some of you have had this problem before. Any ideas as to what I can do when speaking to the service manager tomorrow afternoon?
This will be my third trip for the same problem in 2-3 weeks. I love my truck but just can't handle the noise when driving.
    Thanks in advance!

search Kazoo noise. theres a huge thread about "wind noise in cross winds" where guys ended up talkin about 2 or 3 differant noises. i have the cross wind noise and its coming from the front door weather strips. theres a fix for it in that thread.

I already had the front door weatherstripping replaced. The noise is still very prevalent with heavy crosswind and speeds over 55. Hopefully the problem will be just resealing the windshield. Seeing as the noise seems to move all across the windshield when driving. I have a 2 o'clock appointment with the dealer today. Hopefully they will be more open-minded to other avenues of fixing the problem. Thanks again for the input guys. I will update when I leave the dealer.

Update, if you want to call it that. Spent all afternoon at the dealership. With my 4yr old nonetheless, which made it very interesting. The tech drove it and said it was the weatherstripping, which was replaced last week!!
Long story short he said that he reinforced the weatherstripping on the passenger side. I expressed my concern that the noise was specifically coming from the windshield. Again they said it was fixed and he was sure it wasn't the windshield.
On my way home tonight it was barely noticeable but I couldn't really get up to a decent speed to really be able to tell.
I'm going to take a run down the interstate tomorrow and open it up and see if the noise is still there.
Fingers crossed that they resolved the problem.
    Thanks again for the input.

No problem man. I've never driven a Toyota that doesn't sound like it is in a wind tunnel. Just the price we pay for a 'cheaper' vehicle.

right...but they are replacing it with the same weather strip b/c there hasnt been an updated part. if there's a design flaw with the weatherstrip and they replace it with the same exact weatherstrip, problem will not be resolved. ive spoken to our lead regional tech guy and he's aware of the issue. they are working on a fix but suggested i insert a couple of 7/32" tubing in the weatherstrip to essentially
press it harder against the body of the car. just a suggestion.

Well I finally got to drive the truck a bit today down the highway. Low and behold, the noise is still there. Not quite as bad but still very prevalent. I called the service department and made an appointment for first thing Monday morning.
The only good part of this is the service person is actually going to give me a loaner car to drive this time. I guess I didn't deserve one the first 4 times I had my truck in for the same service.
I am going to speak with the main manager over the service department when I go in. Any tips or ideas of what to say? My first thought is to go ballistic and rip them a new one. But I'm trying to be a bit more cool with my interactions the older I get.
This is getting to be a bit much. For over a month I have been there at least once a week all stemming from this issue.
    Thanks again for any input

You're too nice. I would've wrecked havoc my 2nd time in there. Stop taking no for an answer. Once they "fix" it again you need to have a tech take a ride with you so they can see if it's fixed or not.

Say "lemon law". Fortunately I don't have it. Maybe I just haven't hit the right conditions yet. Fingers crossed.

Weathertech floor liners moded to hold OEM floor mats, weathertech vent visors, Toyota bed mat, LEER 100XL cap, hood gasket mod to stop whistling.
I had wind noise in both my '13 and my '14, it was the hood gasket. Just for the sake of eliminating it, buy some 1/4" clear plastic tubing, squirt some fantastic spray cleaner or similar inside the front hood gasket, and fish the tubing through it. This resolved my issue, but I have heard of issues like yours being the windshield or door gasket.

    Reserected from the dead.
I'm more inclined to believe there is a poor urethane adhesive strip. This is the glue that holds the window to the frame.

Easiest way to check? That window needs to "accidentaly" get cracked. Replace window. Problem solved.
