I'm waiting for my '16 to come in and I'm leaning towards a snugtop. Looks like the most cited reason to have the fold down front window on a shell is for window cleaning. Is it OK to drive around with the front window folded down while driving? More airflow or carrying long objects pass through into the cab? Just wondering.

The ones that fold down look like they just hang unsupported from a piano hinge?

It's probably hard on the hinge to drive around with it down for shits and giggles, but temporary hauling shouldn't be a problem.

    That window isn't exactly lightweight.

There's no hinge on my Leer one , it unlatches and lifts out

SnugTop has a hinge that runs the length of the bottom of the window.

Good information! I'll have to check out the Leer. I like the idea of just removing it. I think I saw one that folds up on gas struts. I need to figure out who makes that one.

ARE is like this too. One long hinge. Not really much support for riding around. Great feature.

It should have a slider front window so you can talk to your dogs on the road...
