    Awesome, thanks for the input.

Headed there now, after I return a carbide drill bit to Lowe's that I bought an hour ago and realized was BENT when I got home. Really? Bent? A carbide drill bit... :annoyed:

I think that depends on the grease you put in there and where you store it. I have one of the standard ones from the parts store. Works well, but it leaked like a muther with that red M1 synthetic grease. I have since changed to the black M1 stuff and it has been great.

I didn't pull the trigger at autozone today. I was looking at the mini grease gun they sell. It takes the 3oz cartridges. I was apprehensive about buying it, mostly due to the fact that their selection of grease looked like horse shit. I need to figure out what the best type of grease is to use... I know "synthetic grease" seams to be the standard, by I want to know what the fuck is in it. I would much prefer to use a highly concentrated molly grease. I just need to make sure I can get it in 3oz tubes. I know that the tubes I can get are something like $100 a tube, but luckily I get them for free. I'll do some research before pulling the trigger.

Any of you used the mini Vatozone grease gun?

I wouldn't get the mini grease gun, I have one that I bought actually for my lawnmower but selection is limited for those little tubes. The one I have actually doesn't have a flexible hose on it so that made it difficult to grease certain things when I went to use it on my truck.
Found a decent gun at wal-mart for $15, don't remember the brand. I use the lucas red and tacky or whatever its called grease.

This is what Total Chaos recommends for their stuff and what I use.

Super Lube 41150 Synthetic Grease (NLGI 2), 14.1 oz Cartridge https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0042FG74W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_KftVwbDBR021E

Yeah get the one w the flexible hose. Makes all the zerks much more accessible. It would be damn near impossible without rotating the drivetrain, without one. I think Toyota just likes he NLGi2 grease. Check the manual and see what works but the standard synthetic stuff seems to fit the bill for all of it.

I would look at Amazon, advanced auto, or napa. My faith in autozone is pretty limited.
Used to love carquest, but they got bought by advanced, so they have a good selection of quality parts.

Well... the reg size gun at autozone doesn't come with a flex hose, it has a steel extension. That's the $15 one. The mini one has the flexi hose...

Yeah, I had to buy the extra flexible house part and attach it. I figured I would do it before it gets all greasy and slippery like most long tube shaped objects do

    And that's why I'm asking.
Reviews say they are getting an increase in HP and MPG, but I'm not one to trust reviews of the biased. I did add a K&N COI and had a little gain in HP and MPG. But I took it off last winter (I always remove it during the winter) and replaced it with a K&N air filter with the OEM air box and got the same results jsut with less noise.

    From Amazon:

    Question:
How well does this work on 2012 Tacoma O/R TRD 4.0 V6 with OEM Air Intake ?
    Answer:
Hello Christopher , well what I can tell you is that it will attach and work , depending on the OEM intake there may be some slight fabrication that may have to be done whether it's the screws that come with the kit or modifying the air box in some way but it will work , expect smoother RPM levels between shifts and overall acceleration increase , nothing will be massive but I like to call it an across the board gain , rpm, mpg's , hp, etc.. You will not be disappointed .

For all my years working on and modding engines a TB spacer is not worth the money you spend. Spend that $ on another mod.

I already committed to cancel the trip yesterday based on the weather forecast. But I'm somewhat disappointed how much the forecast changed from yesterday to today. Had I seen the forecast they posted today, I would have still gone down. Oh well, I know the weather folks can't always have it all nailed down. Matt you will see when we finally get down there, if there is ice, just getting around on the roads down there would be sketchy, let alone the trails. We'll all get it together and make it down there soon. I won't be able to make it the next two weekends because of hockey. I'm excited to go though, especially if the weather warms up a bit.

Well now LBL will be your shakedown for RRG. I've never been to LBL, but from pics I think RRG will have more challenging terrain than what I've seen in this forum.:notsure:

So now that it's February and we are only 4 months away from rolling out. Who's going to RT?
