Howdy from Texas, I'm currently in a 2006 Nismo 4x4, 2" leveling kit 285-75-16's BFG Mud Terrains, 77,000 miles. Time has come to move on to a new truck, I'll be going Tacoma this time, started calling dealers today to find out what I want is a special order, TRD Off Road, 6ft bed, premium sound system, sunroof. I hope I can work a deal with the dealer but she said they can't keep 2016 Tacoma's on the lot, that tells me sale price might be close to retail. I hope not..

Plan for the new Tacoma will be a leveling kit, and the largest BFG Mud Terrain that will fit without any rub. Only off road it will see is at my deer lease in Oklahoma, some hills and mud, nothing huge.

Talked with 3 dealers, their proud of the Tacoma lol. I can get a silver TRD Sport, long bed, JBL, Dcab, 4x4 for $40,000 otd. I've been reading threads on transmission shifting problems, the low fluid level isn't a big deal to me but the shifting sounds terrible, is it that way with all the automatics or some? I've got a 6 speed manual in my Nismo, I'm tired of shifting. Is $40,000 the norm? I've never paid over msrp otd ever!

The shifting is an adjustment for most. Some say the transmission adjusts to the driver and others adjust to the transmission. Maybe both. I'm undecided on the transmission but enjoying the truck overall. Coming from a 2004 Tacoma pre runner that was bulletproof so hoping for the same outcome with this truck. Some have reported getting good deals. There is a thread dedicated to what folks paid. I figure you make your best deal, forget it and enjoy your truck.

I'm sure that's what the dealers want lol, got my truck on the market now, and a motorcycle, when they sell I'll have $20,000 to put down, I've got a 2015 Honda Civic EXL note too, 10 years in the Nismo I'm ready for a change. Really like this members truck.
