Toyota Warranty Came Through

I've got about 3500 miles on my 2016 Tacoma, and a crack started at the very bottom of my windshield in the center on Tuesday morning. It has gotten worst each day since. There is no evidence of a rock hit or anything, so I can only guess that it started due to the heat from my defroster hitting my cold windshield.

I took my truck into the dealership on my lunch hour, one of the service staff snapped some photos, and I was back on the road in 15 minutes. I followed up with him a few hours later and he said they had already ordered another windshield for me to be covered by warranty.

I was prepared to argue this matter with several higher level Toyota staff members, but it was unbelievably easy. Although I have bought vehicles there in the past, I didn't even buy the truck there since they couldn't touch the price I bought it for.

 

Nice. Finally a good dealership story. Now let's just wait and see if it's installed properly and clean.

Did you purchase the extra tire and glass warranty?

 

No I didn't purchase anything whatsoever besides the truck... Peace of mind is kind of why I bought a Toyota in the first place... Plus I figured if I was ever a mile over on a periodic maintenance requirement they would be void anyways...

 

Mine cracked the same way based on your description. My dealership sent off the info and had a new windshield installed with no issues as well. No stone chips seen either and it started under the bottom of the seal so it was easy to figure out.
