Tank, Smoked Tail Lights, Double Din Sat radio w/ back-up camera, Redline Hood Struts, ARB Dual air compressor W/ 20 Gal. air tank, Sig P320C Security System!
If Toyota were really serious about building a PRO model, they would be reading the forums and realize that they need to have a minimum of 3" lift. The FOX parts are great as well as the Rigid lights are great also. I agree also that power seats would be a great addition considering the price they will want for it.
As for me, I will get the SR5 version and put the parts on it that will make it a beast off road and leave the PRO version behind for the same amount of money they want for the PRO.

A 2017 TRD Pro should be synonymous with an OEM 3.5L supercharged powerplant. Only way I would consider forking over >$40K on a mid-sized truck.

That's what I've been saying. I just can't see a tacoma trd pro going for more than a tundra trd pro for 42k. If it does who the heck would even consider a tacoma at that point?

A loaded 2016 TRD OR DCSB (what the trd pro is in) with Premium and Tech package with JBL audio with options - V6 tow package is at 38,315 msrp. (all of which the trd pro will have) The only thing added is the cosmetics/suspension etc. I think it will be priced just below the tundra trd pro, around 41k.

Like 08WhiteTRD and I said, I am sure certain dealers will go above msrp to try to rip people off because they know they will sell every last one.

Looks nice. Interesting to see how the price is getting inflated each year. Don't really know if it is inflation, the supply can't keep up with demand, or a limitation by Toyota to artificially create a scarcity... Probably a combination of those and other factors..

I would have to say it is a pretty vehicle...Just way outta my price range. Not really in the market anyway. But if I won the lottery....haha

I think its interesting to see some of the most negative comments were from people who have 16's. Like how all the second gen'ers said the 16's were ugly and all the problems associated with that. Maybe just the old hating on the new.

You hit the nail on the head.

I'm curious, do superchargers and turbos make a truck or it's "driver" a better off roader? How many 4x4 leaf smashers think they need a supercharger to have a more capable off road vehicle?

Nobody is saying that more power will make it better off road. People just want more power because power is awesome, and more power, is more awesome.

Can't argue with that. I'm just hoping folks don't think they need more power in order for the TRD Pro to be a better off-road machine within they're own driving capabilities.

Can't speak for all folks, but I would need more power upgrades to purchase a TRD Pro. Any TRD line taco is perfectly capable off-road put in the hands of a capable driver.

In my opinion, the TRD PRO could do with a supercharger (I'm at 6000ft so a little extra power never hurts, especially when towing), the suspension is definately a step in the right direction but could be an inch bigger than they've gone (for serious off roading you want 33-35's so why not build it to fit what we are all wanting to do aftermarket) leads me to question how big a tire will fit under the truck, I must go measure sometime. Incidently, rumor on the land rover defender replacement will have 35's standard...

Now, to my real wish list for a top end off roader... how about designing in a hidden winch in front! wouldn't change asthetics hugely but will greatly increase the off roading potential and would make it stand out from the others. rather have that than leather seats...

How about designing hi lift jack points into the vehicle so we could avoid the bottle jack if we wanted....

How about real sliders not crap steps....

Surely for the increased cost of a TRD PRO they could be doing more than just bolt on upgrades that we can do to any other Tacoma....

Ohh and lastly, but far from least:

How about a topographic navigation system that allows us to visualize terrain shape so when we're off roading, we could make smart decisions... the maps are out there, how much work would it take to make a real off roading nav system for a great truck! Looks like the entune system could accept more apps if they developed it, then it could retro-fit all 3rd Gens... wouldn't that be cool!

ahh, such a cynic, lol.... I wanted heated seats :)

admittedly long after the most basic of new cars has heated seats, but hey, they still beat the landrover defender to civilized interior

I don't think anybody on this forum ever asked for a 3.5 liter that doesn't get any better fuel economy than the 4 liter....

The suspension is the key. I think TRD puts a lot of effort into getting it tuned well to work with the VSC and get better articulation. The rest is bling. Except for the nice skid with a oil filter cutout. Shouldn't have to pay extra for that.
