Post your BLACK 3rd Gens

Finally got around to a couple decent pics of the rig in progress.
So far just the minor stuff everyone seems to be doing.
• remove air dam
• tinted fronts at 28%
• bed mat
• LED license plate lights
• yellow lamin-x fogs
• much more to come

 

Love the yellow fogs, Did the lamin-x go on smooth without wrinkles?

 

Thanks! It did. I used a heat gun to stretch around the contour of the light, also I put two layers on for a deeper yellow colour.
This was this morning in the fog!

 

I should be able to take some pictures of mine this weekend. Finally got a new grill so I'm not embarrassed of how it looks anymore.

 

I nominate the blackie as the best stock Tacoma.

Really like this grille. Is it the gloss or flat powder coat?

 

Nice set up on the wheels. I'm considering doing the same. Since you've had them a bit, any rubbing at all with the 275/70 set up?

 

Gloss black and painted the badge metallic gunmetal

 

The 265 70 R17's were rubbing and had them swapped for 65's. No more rubbing, and they got the running boards on. Quite happy!

 

Could you possibly hook your ambers into your hazards? That would be pretty cool to have.

Is that a reflection or is your windshield severely cracked ?

 

It's cracked but that's a crazy reflection you're seeing. The crack starts almost at the edge of the windshield, then comes down and forms an L, but it stops in front of where the passenger is sitting. It doesn't even go halfway over. Here is a pic I took Friday where you can kind of see it..

 

Ahhhh... much smaller than it appeared in that other pic. Still.... sucks.

 

Are those the OEM aluminum running boards? They look really good! Do you find they are actually useful for climbing in/out of the truck? I test drove one with the tube steps and couldn't figure out a non-awkward method of using them to get in or out.

 

My wife was gracious enough to let me trade my 2014 single cab base for a 3rd Gen DCSB SR5. It's just a 2wd 4 banger but with 4 kids, we sure do enjoy the extra space.

 

Forgot to post a pic of my double cab trd off road manual transmission in this thread. So far love the truck. Added a Rad Industries grill and skid plate.
