    What up peeps,

This is my first post on Tacoma World. I have a 2016 Tacoma TRD Off Road, which is the first Tacoma and Toyota I've ever owned. So far I'm stoked and thinking about all the mods I can do. I do have one question for all you more experienced Tacoma peeps. Is there any way to modify or hack the Hawaii Tacoma's radio so that I can get all of the functions that people on the mainland get? Not necessarily Satellite radio, but rather I want to use the Entune App on my phone and down apps for the radio in my truck. Anyone had any luck with this? I just feel like we pay more for these trucks than Mainland peeps, we should at least get all the functionality that they have.

I saw a a thread on some Tundra forums where some dude registered Entune with a Mainland VIN and then updated his radio via the bluetooth connection. Tried that and doesn;t seem to work in my Tacoma. Any ideas? Thanks.

Shoots. Glad to be a Tacoma owner.

So far no luck. Got one of my coworker's trying to come up with something. He's all into that kind of thing.

No Apps, like Pandora, or I heart Radio, or Traffic on our nav. Or even weather.

Yeah that's the BS they tell you at the dealership. The only app that requires Satelite is the XM radio app. The rest actually tether to your phone for internet access.

Pandora, i<3radio, etc work, but I don't have accounts set up. I don't really drive my truck enough to miss it.

This is exactly what I was told when I got my truck. He said that the radio will use HD Radio or other services primarily, and shift to cell phone data when its not available. I didn't see the point in using it like that instead of just on my phone over BT, so I've never used it other than when we registered it at the dealer and downloaded the apps.
