Ahoy Craig! Doing good! Trying to find some obscure never before seen problem in my Scion so it's currently at Toyota getting diagnosed

 

Just turned 58K on my 13'tC.
very pleased with it - just not a fan of getting in and out of it.

 

55,000 km's was when my problem first appeared.. but considering neither toyota or Dezod have ever seen a P219A phasing in and out before I don't think you have anything to worry about haha.

Nice! I may go hunting for this I've been pouring through all the 3rd gen stuff for last hourish, thanks for the heads up!

Interesting, you aren't that much taller than me and I feel like I fit pretty well in the FRS. Now the 370z, that was a different story.

I have to scrunch my neck tight to torso. Wasn't comfy and I'd snap my neck off the ceiling in an accident for sure...

 

Long weekend is here. Still getting the run around from my dealership. It's been over a month now and still no resolution. I called them yesterday and the service manager told me that a used engine has been installed in my truck. I specifically told him to keep me in the loop, and that a used engine would not be acceptable. I really don't know what I'm going to do right now, I'm pretty pissed off. When I reminded him that I have been without my 4 wheel drive truck all winter his response was "what winter". I asked for his boss, and he told me his boss was "not doing well and would not be around for a while". I made some inquiries and found the head of service for the group that owns the dealership. I left a message and have not gotten a call back. I've had a few sleepless nights about this whole mess and it's still not clear what the outcome will be. In case anyone is still reading, The dealership tech did not tighten the oil plug on a routine oil change, ant the engine blew up on the highway on the way home, leaving my wife stranded in January on an Interstate. They have been giving me the run around for a month now. Blood pressure is rising.

OK, rant over. Sorry. Plenty of folks out there with real problems.

 

Still not sure why they must replace a well used engine with a brand new engine. They broke a used one not a new one. Insurance doesn't replace your 8 year old maxima with a 2016 one if it gets totalled by someone else.

 

It wasn't you that it happened to. I know the history of my engine. I'm don't feel a junkyard engine with an unknown maintenance history is a fair replacement for the dealerships incompetence.
