There was a really long thread on those Phillips LED headlights. The conclusion was that they just don't last. The design may have been updated since that thread.

May just keep it simple and stick with the OSRAMs

I have been really happy with Philips Vision Plus and XtremeVision headlight bulbs from Amazon. I've tried the +60% and +100%. Both are improvements over stock (but they don't last as long).

I have a set of these in my Fogs and they are nice...

I HAD a set in my headlights for 2 weeks before i finished my retrofits.. My review is they are Blinding super bright.. but they scatter light just as bad as HID in the stocks.. i was flashed by every other driver... they also make a weird pattern with the light.. also had a black spot in the center of the truck running the headlights when driving or 20FT from a wall..

I have had the Philips H4's since late September/ Early October. Killer setup, allows me to see everything, instant on, zero eye fatigue and they just work. I have handled many headlight/ ballast/ driver setups in the past and this by far is one of the if not THE best quality built headlight bulb systems I have ever had the pleasure of owning. If you are going to shoot for these, don't think about the cost, or the system in general. Just do it. You will love them and you will thank me in the end.

BTW, the headlights and drivers are designed and built using all aluminum parts, and they fit right in no problem.

^ that's really not all that long for a $200+ headlight setup. If I remember correctly the bulbs were lasting in the area of 6 months or so.
Like I mentioned they may have been updated since.

Are you sure that was the Philips? I don't recall seeing that thread. There is a really long thread on the Lifetime LEDs, that were concluded to be total garbage. Philips on the other hand is a quality brand.

Neither is an LED retrofit. Or and HID retrofit. Anything other than a stock wattage halogen bulb is illegal. However, well designed upgrades will not blind other drivers and keep light where it is meant to go, meaning it is safe for all parties and provides enhanced visibility. The Philips LEDs (while illegal) are the only ones designed to maintain like factory optics. And high powered halogens by nature keep factory optics. HIDs throw all that out the window and blind other drivers, as many LED upgrades do as well.

I didn't realize those Philips LED's weren't street legal. I read some really good reviews about them awhile back.

Properly designed and wired/wattage Halogens are hard to beat. Pretty amazing really. I always think about that when I'm on a hill/highway and see things lit up three miles down the road. And people still get bent outta shape when they burn out in a year. I, for one, am still impressed with a lot of these halogen bulbs now days.

I replaced my OEMs with LED kits from xenonHIDs.com. I am very happy with the bulbs, they are very bright and cast a longer distance than the OEMs. There is some additional scatter light but its toward the center, not other drivers and the LEDs dont maintain as sharp of a cut off as the OEMs. As far as other drivers, I get flashed about as much as I did with the OEMs. 12032060_10206256094774022_3996143634689448722_n.jpg 11219523_10206256094694020_4487989580339712847_n.jpg

I want to know if that is the Phillips LED or the XD Led in initial post or just some random older style with that pattern? He just said "leds from xenon depot" without being specific.
