My dad and I, who i work for, always carry around heavy duty utility knives. The ones with the replaceable blades. Once it gets dull you either flip the blade around or through it away and get a new one.

 

I carry this. Had to cut through a copper wire as thick as my pinky finger. I lined up the blade with the wire and I hit the back with a hammer. No damage to the knife at all. That was four years ago. I still carry the same knife.

This was my EDC from 2008-2011. Spring broke. Used an abused in Iraq and Afghanistan. Got a CRKT in Qatar to replace it.

Wouldn't buy for $30, let alone $300.

 

My Sage 2 has turned into my favorite EDC. Not a cheap knife but I wanted it. It's replaced my BM mini griptilian and also my PM2 as far as EDC goes. I thought about collecting the Sage 1 and 3 also. And they're even releasing a Sage 4 with a compression lock this year.

I guess I should mention I love carrying it because of that damn Spyder hole. The knife itself is great. But I really just miss it when I'm not carrying it because I love opening and closing it all day with the Spyder hole.

 

My favorite knife is a Benchmade 9050 that a cool supply sergeant ordered for our unit when I was in the army back in 04. I don't use or carry it, it's just too damn nice.

I carry an old Gerber folder from back when all Gerbers were American made. Sad day when Schrade/ Old Timer/Uncle Henry went bankrupt and are now all made in China.

 

It might be mentioned somewhere in the this thread already. But for people looking for a cheap EDC knife check these out. Made in China with "axis" locks. I understand most people don't want to carry around a $100+ knife. Ganzo knives are super cheap and honestly a pretty good quality knife.

Here's just a snapshot from Amazon. They make a PM2 and also a Rat Model 1 knockoff. I'll say it again, these are actually pretty damn nice "cheap" knives.

I'll rotate between three knives for EDC:

Benchmade Mini Griptillian
Microtech UDT (that I've had since ~2000)
Swiss Army Pioneer Alox

I carry the Griptillian probably more than the other two, and I use the Pioneer for stuff I don't want to subject the nicer knives to.

 

Kershaw Scallion with pen clip in the watch pocket of my jeans. Everyday, everywhere.

 

It's a great knife for collectors. Lots of novelty.

Dual recurve tanto blade? That isn't a user. Gimmicky as hell, I'm sure it's constructed nice.

 

You got it all wrong.. It wasn't built for collectors.. It's in my EDC rotation.. Whatever guys

 

This is mine. 3 years. Every day appendix carry.

 

I have that same knife, and while I love it to death, I felt it was too bulky to EDC.

 

Try appendix carrying. After 5 minutes I can't feel it...
