Who Else Is Getting The Big Stiff One On Tax "Returns" This Year?

I'm a "self employed" carpenter, I get 1099ed. I have nothing nice to say...

 

Dude. You receive a complimentary PEN15 statue right in your front yard. The kicker to that, however, is that you require regular rectal enlargements at your local doctors office to make sure you fit into that one.

What did you do for tax exemption?

What do you do for work? At least you have the income to pay it afterwards.

Its pretty simple here boys, claim "zero" I usually get around 2k back a year. My worse year ever was this one. Getting $1,300 deposited into my account in a couple days

^This I never get much back, maybe 1/6 of what I put in. However the idiot coworker has 2 kids and gets back double if not triple what he put in, tell me how that makes sense. And he's on WIC, etc. Still not worth it to me to have the ball and chain/kids.

Dumbest advice I ever heard- sorry. Why give the govt. a free loan for a year on your money. This is your money you are getting back, IF they get around to deciding you deserve it back,add to that state tax if your state doesn't run out of money and hold the "refunds". No way put your money to use the way you want.

 

Different strokes for different folks man. I've read some of these guys owe like 2-3k on this thread already. What if they had a family emergency, lost job, wrecked car etc...? You think the government gives a fuck about that stuff? Nope. Then they throw ur ass in prison when they don't get their money. MUCH more peace of mind knowing I never ever have do deal with those blood suckers. EVER

You don't get imprisoned if you file correctly and defer payment. You just pay interest.

 

It always cracks me up when people get excited for refunds. My goal is to be as close to a zero refund, or even owe just a little bit, every year.

 

Don't get me started on taxes, I'll get going on a political rant and get the thread locked.

I pay nearly a third of my pay in various taxes every year. F'n socialistic bullshit.

 

See how this works? The government steals half your money. Then they set up a system where we fight each other about whether it's better to give it up sooner or later.

 

I claim LOTS of exemptions- no free government loans from me!

Either way, you owe what you owe.

That being said- have appointment with accountant soon. I will likely have to pay the Fed even more, as my income changed.
