    Gents,

I recently tackled a clutch on my '99 3.4L 5 speed 4x4. During the job, I noticed that there was a leak between the transfer and the transmission. I pulled them apart and replaced the seal on the shaft, and while I was at it, I re-sealed where the shifters bolted to the transmission/transfer. I buttoned everything back up and drove it for two months with no issues.

However, I was underneath checking to make sure I had no leaks when I discovered this:IMG_1944.jpg

Anyone know what this was supposed to connect to? It's bent toward the driver's side, and, looks like it has been for the life of the truck.

The truck is running well. Also, there are no codes on the Ultra-gauge. Is it possible that there is an 'extra' connector coming from the wiring harness that isn't used on a 5spd?

Yeah im sure it was nust an unused connector for something you dont have. It certainly wasnt something you unhooked by the looks of the connector itself. Seems the inside looks the same as the outside as far as age and dirtyness and such...nit uncommon to have unused connectors throughout the harness. Lots of different options through various models and the same harness would be used reguardless of model and or options.

Thinking back im fairly certain ive seen a couple other threads about the very same connector being unused and no issues or the other side were ever found...

Thanks for the input, gents. I have no issues, no codes, and my truck seems to be running exactly as it should. I'm concluding that it was a connector for the optional flux capacitor that I didn't buy.
