This makes me a sad panda :(...glad he was ok. Sue the fuck outta that 18 wheeler! That whiplash is no joke esp at any sort of speed, my back/neck is permanently fucked because of an accident where I was rear-ended at 40mph (I was at a standstill), no bags deployed or anything didn't hit anything else but in lots of pain everyday now. Make sure he can get 3 Tacoma's of every gen and a pre-order for the new TRD Pro with the money they better offer up for his pain and suffering alone!

As a manager of a trucking company, i cringe when people say sue. We payout so much money to the most dumb shit. Sorry this happened to your brother op. He'll be made plenty whole I'm 100% sure.

IDK about u guys...but I'd MUCH rather have my truck totaled than just damaged....Get a new truck instead of one just bubblegumed back together! Of course that doesn't take into consideration the injuries...I'm glad he's ok thou!

Glad he is ok! Always the most important thing is that everyone is ok.

Actually doesnt look that bad all things considered. based on what you said happened id have expected a lot worse. It does look bad till you realize everything in the front is just plastic for the most part so any impact is going to damage it. Same with the rear. Hope he can get a new one and not have them just fix it!

Might be worth it to get a lawyer on his end. Not to sue or anything but just to handle things. Insurance Co's will dick around with a regular joe but soon as lawyer is involved they tend to not bother. He should be able to get some pain and suffering type money just from having a lawyer. I know my dad did on his harley. Got the money for harley, accessories, medical bills paid, plus a bit for pain and suffering.

They might not directly pay for things like this but their premiums will go up so in a way they do pay for it.

I was just involved in a major accident. I tried the "Go it alone route", if you do this the insurance company will try to screw you over. Lawyer up early, I wish I did. Make sure he documents all injuries even anxiety so much as related to this accident. Glad he's safe and relatively whole, that's the truly fortunate part.

I'm not 100% sure but we pay everything out of pocket under 100k + huge premiums because everyone sues for everything and everyone is hurt from a tiny dent in the bumper.

Obviously this is not OP's brothers case to be clear.

Glad he is relatively okay. Just FYI, the settlement will be based on the total cost of his treatment to get back to 100%. (diagnostic expenses not included- X-rays, CT scans, etc.) The insurance company will push him to settle early. Don't do it. Be willing to wait a year or more before settling.

Pain and suffering tend to be more severe when you crash on a motorcycle.

If its totaled you can buy it back from the ins company and then turn it into a total offroad machine. You will end up with a salvage title but who cares in a dedicated offroad truck

I tried to get a settlement out of the insurance company of some kid who clipped me in the rear, to cover the cost of bumper repair and taillight replacement. The kid pulled over after I chased him about 3 miles. We pulled over and traded DL and insurance information. Then I noticed the smell of alcohol, so I called the cops, because I didn't want him back on the road again. When I was talking to the 911 dispatcher, he took off. Troopers caught him 10 miles down and arrested him.

His insurance company would not pay the damages because he claimed I cut him off. So I sent a nice letter to them explaining what happened, the subsequent arrest, the case # and the Trooper badge number. They STILL refused to cover the damages.

I sent same letter to a lawyer friend. He cut and pasted my EXACT letter onto his fancy attorney letterhead and sent to the insurance company.

I got my claim settlement check in 4 days.

    Glad no one was hurt.
