Just got these from Discount tires - President's Day sale gave $135 in rebates.

Thought I'd post some photo's for those interested. I have 1.5" lift

May I ask what the tires ran you? $$$. Also how loud are they at highway speeds? I do a significant percentage of driving on the highway and the tires I have now are too loud for my taste.

They were $164 each - $135 rebates. With the rebates they are a little over $600 out the door including tax, TPMS rebuilds, etc.

Noise must not be an issue, because until you mentioned it I hadn't thought of it. I've driven about 70 miles on them.

Nice looking truck OP. I had AT3's on my old truck and loved them. Looks like you got a decent deal too.

Ha... I was going to buy them a month ago, but I asked the salesman and he said tires typically go on sale around Presidents Day, so I held off...

I totally agree ,I was with a friend and he's got ko2s and I kept saying those look tough . I guess looks can be deceiving because the at3 performs very good . Has anyone had them in sugar sand ?

How do these tires perform on the road? These are the exact tires I want to get to replace my stock Rugged Trails. I do 90-95% highway driving, 5-10% light trail/fireroad/gravel etc. I just really like the looks of these and I would rather not get a "street tire", but if the performance on the road is bad (noisy, noticeable drop in MPG....) I may have to re-think.

Also, my stock tires are 265/70/16. I'd like to go a size up (so they stick out slightly more) but am planning on keeping the stock suspension for now. Is this possible?

I have 265 75 16 and its stock suspension .They are superior on the road as far as I'm concerned and excellent in the rain , also been in mud and they did fine . As far as noise I don't notice any ,but seemed to have lost 1 mpg city and highway

Shwaa I think they are great on highway. That's mostly what I drive and have no problems with them. I believe you may be able to squeeze a 285 but it may rub a bit.

I have about 1500 miles on mine and have done everything with them except deep mud. The look of the tire is average (I love the look of the KO2 & Duratracks) but I am more concerned about performance. For me I was looking for a tire that was a great all arounder. I feel that I have found it in the AT3. I would say that it is on par with the Toyo AT II. I had thoes on a Silverado 2500 and loved them. I went with the AT3 over Toyo because of the Price and I was Very Happy with a set of Cooper tires that I had on a Durango. To answer some questions...

    Size LT265/75/16
    Weight 42 lbs each
Price: I think if you can get them between $130 & $160 per tire that is a very good deal. I got mine for a scream:yay: at $119 through a commercial distibutor that a friend of a friend of a guy I know owns:spy:... However, I had to do my own mounting and balancing at a buddys shop or I would have had to take it somwhere and pay to have it done.
Noise: I have never noticed a hum at any speed so... Silent with the windows rolled up and Very Quiet with the windows down (limited window down experience as its freezing here).
MPG: I cannot compare as I switched out my wheels at the same time. I gained 3-4 pounds per tire but lost 9 pounds per wheel. My milage increased 1.5mpg with 70% city 30% highway.
Dry: When you first get the tires they need to wear in a bit. I would say between 200 and 500 miles. They would break loose a lot with mild acceleration especialy around corners:eek:. I think is was just the new rubber burning off the top. Now that they are broke in they stick very well for an AT tire. I would go as far as to say they stick better than most SUV Highway tires I have used.
Rain:rain:: Overall good traction. I hit a couple large puddles on the Interstate going about 70mph and did not Hydroplane or feel loose. Stopping was as great.
Snow: First off, drive with caution and they work great:turtleride:. If you drive like it is a summer day then no tire is going to perform Great. Good tread clearing, stopping, and accelerating. I have been in wet slush and up to 2 feet of Snow with no issues.

Overall: I will say that I am extreamly pleased with them and do not in anyway regret my purchase.

Just put a set on my truck today too. Went 265/75/16 as well - I did the lighter non LT rated. So far, I like the look, noise isn't any worse than my old Destination AT's. They feel a little "squirmier" but I'm betting that is due to having AT tread back, versus old tires that were on the wear-bars. I remember thiking the same thing many years ago when I put a set of Grabber AT2's on an older truck.

Mine have about 35,000 miles on them now and look pretty darn good considering. I'm not easy on them. I will likely go to something more aggressive next time since 90% of the off road stuff around me involves some mud but that is not a knock on the AT3s...they've held their own.
