I have a box being built for my AC now. Will be using a 8" Alpine Type R. Will post pics when finished.

BUT it glows blue at night! And it does work a little bit. I dont need one that'll piss off neighbors and cause hearing loss.

Subthump.com responded to my email saying they are planning to make one but are currently looking for a donor truck to measure and test.
Anyone willing to donate their truck to them for testing?

    They are located here:

Jlaudio.com responded to my email with the most useless response regarding the StealthBox:

"I can suggest for you to look at the installation instructions, and compare it to your truck. We don't know if the console has changed. Toyota is notorious for making changes to the interior of its trucks on a yearly basis."

Thanks buddy, i'll do your product testing for you...

Haha that is pretty weak. I got this from Mike West at JL Audio.

    "Hello John.

We haven't yet brought it a 2016 Tacoma for research and development, but the feedback we're getting from a few dealers is that Toyota has once again changed the rear panel in the truck. Some dealers are modifying the panel to get our SB-T-TACDC12/10TW3 Stealthbox to fit, but it apparently requires doing a lot of cutting on the panel. See the enclosure at the link below:

    SB-T-TACDC12/10TW3

I imagine we'll be acquiring a 2016 truck sometime early next year to consider a new solution. Feel free to check back at the end of next month for an update.

That appears to be for a double cab, not an access cab.

Hi all, I just got my truck back yesterday from a full Custom sound install. I am totally happy with it. I kept the factory head unit (non JL), installed an Audison Bit One Digital signal processor, 10 Audison Voce speakers in the factory spots, 2 JL amps and a custom made fiberglass sub enclosure with a 10" JL subwoofer. All I can say is wow. Warehouse car Audio in Stockton CA. did the work. They have done over 20 units for me in the last 25 years. Amazing install. It was not cheap and definitely does not sound like it. Here are some pics.

Sent an email to OEM Audio Plus http://shop.oemaudioplus.com
They currently have an amp/speaker combo pack for 3rd Gen Access cabs but no sub yet.

    Here is their response.

    Hello Sir,
Good to hear you are interested in a subwoofer unit for your Tacoma Access Cab! We are indeed currently looking into developing a sound solution that incorporates our subwoofer. We do not have access to a test vehicle at the moment -- but the more we hear from customers like you, the more we can focus our efforts into bringing this to a reality. With that said, would you happen to be located in Southern California?

In the meantime, we do offer our C3 Sound Solution for the Toyota Tacoma Access Cab, the system you mention in your message. This includes our Quick-Sync Wiring Harness, DSP Amplifier, 1" Soft Dome Tweeters, and 6x9 Carbon Fiber Woofers. If you decide to go this route, the system is designed to allow for our subwoofer, as it becomes available.

Here is a link to our Tacoma Access Cab C3 Sound Solution product page, for your convenience:

Feel free to reach out to myself or anyone on the OEM Audio Plus team if you have any more questions.

    Thank you

Anyone live in SCAL and wanna let them borrow your Access Cab?

I live in Orange County near them, about 10 miles away. I may be willing to let them borrow my 2016 Access Cab TRD Sport. I am highly interested in a subwoofer option for it. Just sent an e-mail to them inquiring about a subwoofer. Will post the response I get.

That's for the double cab. This thread is more focused on a subwoofer solution for the access cab.

This is what I went with. 8" Alpine Type R and custom made box. Flash kind of threw the color off.

Local northern Virginia JL rep states it will work on 2016 access cab, not just double cab. We will see.

I heard from OEM Audio Plus today by phone and e-mail after asking about a subwoofer for an Access Cab:

"Thank you for reaching out and your interest in the O+ sound solution for your Tacoma.
We are currently evaluating a design on a subwoofer enclosure that can fit both 2nd and 3rd generation Tacoma Access Cab derivatives. On a occasion, we have partnered up with customers in expediting our prototyping process. Considering that you’re local, If you are interested in such an endeavor, we can provide additional information on the steps involved in the process."

I called and talked with them and they said they need an Access Cab Tacoma for 2-3 days so they can R&D a production subwoofer enclosure to go with their c3 system that is available. They asked if they could use my Tacoma for this research since they have been getting hammered with inquiries for Access Cab systems with a sub, and they do not have that option available. Said about 70% of all Access Cab inquires are about when and where is a subwoofer option. They said I would need to purchase the full system and installation and then let them have the truck for 2-3 days and they could use my truck for the design of one. Then after 30-45 days of design and production they would need my truck back and would install the woofer they develop and then use it for YouTube videos for demonstration and installation. I told them I am not sure I want to pull the trigger yet on an $899.00 system plus install without an already designed subwoofer option, and then let them keep it for 2-3 days for design. Said I would get back to them. Seems like I get to pay for their R&D opening up my cab and no guarantee of a great sub designed and installed. I am mulling over it right now as I am not set on what I want just yet.

Hmm, I wonder if they would at least give you some good samaritan schwag or a discount for being a guinea pig.

Stock Toyota mats that came with the truck. Dealer gave me those and Tacoma carpet mats. I replaced the fronts with Husky's though.
