No not intended to be rude at all. I was just asking in general.

Cause I've seen alot of people with handicap stickers and they get out of there car and walk just fine.

And like I said before there is a kid that has one at my school and he goes to the gym.

Just wondering if there is something else I don't know about that could get you a hand I cap sticker.

Gotcha. I don't know the specifics, but I know what you're saying. Maybe he has seizures or something. Morbidly obese people are another that bothers me. Park in the handicapped spots then find the nearest rascal.

Yeah I guess that could make since. I don't know why parking close to a building some how related to seizures though. Idk.

But yeah you shouldn't get a handicap thing cause your fat. Thats kinda ridiculous.

I have a friend who has had a heart transplant, he walks just fine, for a while. He gets a lot of grief from people who don't see wheelchair. During warm weather he will yank his shirt up and show his scar. Just because you don't see a problem doesn't mean there isn't.

I have a handicap parking placard. I have MS. I got it when My neurologist asked me if I would like one. He applied for me. The problem is when able bodied people who are not handicapped use the placard.

Pretty sure you're right. You lose your license for something like 6 months after a seizure. I've had coworkers with seizures, they must take their medication in order to retain their license.

Nope well at least not in Chicago and the state of ILL. I have to submit a medical report to my doctor and he/she (multiple docs) sends it to the state then I can get a license. But not while I was still having them. the driving was a no no

The people I've noticed the most in the handicap parking are those that don't have a sticker, and drive a fancy car (Lexus, Mercedes, BMW).

I think the thing with the handicap sign is that it's easy to assume that someone doesn't have a problem because they can walk and talk just fine. If they have an issue that you can't see right from the get go, it's harder to accept and people think they are abusing the system. My kids have asked why people park there when they "look fine" and I tell them there are things you can't see sometimes, and they need it.

My dad used to have one, and the times he didn't need it, he didn't use it. Sometimes his pain was too great and he had to use it. I was one of those who used to judge others prior to my dad getting one, then my opinion changed and I saw how useful they can be for those who need them.

I switched from the handicapped placard to the plates because I get tired of remembering to put the placard up. I'm a disabled vet, and most of the time I also move normally. I find that I get looks for not parking in handicapped spots when I don't just as much as when I do.

I've decided to not give a shit.

I also park free at at airport because of it, and most toll roads are free. That's the real benefit.

toll roads are free....... that's bullshit. and free parking at the airport is pretty lame too

i have no problem with you getting prime spots, but you should pay teh same as everyone else

edit..... i see it is a special program more to being disabled while serving... i guess that's a nice thing for the state to do.... although, i'm not sure i completely agree....

For those that don't have a sticker/placard and park their anyway I always assume they are mentally handicapped.

You obviously never served, and lack the understanding that these are paltry substitutes for the risks and the stresses that the men and women of our military have subjected themselves to for our nation over the past 240 years. Wear armor for 18 hours a day, six months straight, in 130 degree heat, in locations where anyone around you could be trying to kill you. When you hit your 40s, your body will also be broken down.

Returning to topic...here's a handicapped parking job that does qualify as asshole. The individual was about 240 years old, too...

Since it has been a topic of discussion... I feel for anyone that truly needs handicapped tags and hope I never need them. Anyone that illegally parks in a handicapped spot deserves far worse than a $500 ticket. As for anyone that miss uses handicapped tags, legally or not, "Asshole Parking" doesn't do it justice. I'm never going to question someone who has the proper tags. It is unlikely that I would even check for tags on a car in a handicapped spot. I leave it to you to do the right thing. I know I will.
