    Excuse my ignorance, but why does having traction control enabled cause the grinding sound? Mine has been doing this frequently and I could never figure out why. It's not the tires rubbing, but this?

    If turning off the traction control is anything like my friend's 2014 4Runner, then it will activate the Auto-LSD.

    Make sure when you put the truck in 4wd the engaugement lights are a solid light and not flashing. You dont want to be applying power if the lights are still flashing as you are not fully in gear.
