Show off your Cooper ST Maxx

Damn well that's gay. Thought all tires had a milage warranty..

 

Got to use mine in some snow. To be honest its hard to break them loose! There awesome!

 

Idk if I can justify getting these tires when most of my driving is road.. but they look so good!

 

85 percent will be road for me, Light trailing. It always good to have "just
In case" type of situation.

 

See that's what I'm saying too. I plan on doing a lot more camping this year since the wife will be out of school but my business is also still growing and the summers are the really busy time for me. Plus my truck isn't 4x4 so how much would I really need these tires.. That's what I'm juggling with..

 

Thanks, Robert, yeah, I am pretty sure my shop will price match. They do top-notch work and have my business for life. I don't even have the new wheels yet, and I have no room to store these tires until I get the wheels. Well, I guess if I tried really hard, I could make room.

I'll send the advertised link to them tomorrow, and ask if they'll lock in a price match for me. Maybe they can just hold them in their shop for a couple weeks.

As soon as Vin from SCS responds to my message, I should be able to get the wheels if he has the ones I want in stock. He said they are running low on a few models.

 

I think if data were collected, most trucks running these tires would be revealed to be offroad only 10% of their actual overall mileage at most. If a driver does 10k miles a year, that's 1k miles offroad a year, which is roughly Seattle to LA, offroad. Plus they have very good pavement manners, from all accounts.

If you are looking for an alternative that is a superb and long-lived road tire and truly very capable off road, look take a look at the Michelin LTX AT2. But you won't save any money. Check out @teamhypoxia's build thread for validation.

I'd agree with that. I thought the ltx were cheaper but I could be wrong.

 

I definately prefer offroad tires that behave well on the road over street tires that don't behave well offroad or in snow. Thankfully, with the condition of my property and the snow I have to drive through to get there during the winter, I can justify the purdy "offroad" tires that behave well on the road.

 

Well there you go. I live in az so I have very mild conditions here..

 

Go up to Boulders OHV area. More than a few times, I came across trucks while I was out riding my quad.

 

Read this whole thread and decided pull the trigger on these. Plus my previous duracraps sidewalls got punctured while hunting on some mild logging trails and didn't want to replace it with another duracrap fearing the sidewalls would fail again. Coming from duratracs, these coopers are a lot heavier. Feels like I have wheel spacers on them because I used to have wheel spacers on the duratracs..and these coopers feels like that. Harder to accelerate but once you get going, it's fine. Got them about 2 months ago. They do great on snow and okay on ice.

I have a first gen Tundra with these (285/75/16s) tires. The first set of ST Maxx's went 59,800 miles. YMMV.
The Tundra is my DD that gets 250 - 300 road miles a week. Weekends It sees a variety - road, gravel, dirt, mud, Sandy beaches, And occasionally snow. All the weekend miles are either hauling camping gear and towing our teardrop, and/or kayak equipment.

These. STMaxx's do everything so well that I've stopped looking for other tires. I just bite the bullet when it's time for a new set and buy them. When those stupid BFG ATs die on our Tacoma it'll get a set of ST Maxx's too.

 

That's pretty good milage for those tires that's for sure. I'm only at 40k with these Dunlap tires and they are already done for. I do the same amount of driving as you. Anywhere for 350 to 400 miles a week use to be more. Thanks for the post man! TW rocks!

Yeah i was just hoping someone might have it so i could see what it looks stock, I like the at3 also have had it before. If i get the at3 im going 265. Thanks!
