I found a thread on Kayak roof racks but it was primarily for long boats (ocean/lake). Purchasing a 2016 and need a roof rack for whitewater kayaks. Not going to buy a shell so I want one for the roof. Issue is Toyota Roof Rack has 100 lb limit. I need to be able to load 4 whitewater kayaks (~170 lbs). Has anyone found a Thule or Yakima (or other brand) rack that works?
    Thanks!

I attached Yakima racks to the factory rack and never had a problem. Your other option would be something bed mounted which can get pricey.

So you attached Yakima Stackers to the Toyota Crossbars and have had no issues? Thanks

I attached Yakima Towers (Railgrabbers) and Crossbars to the factory rack with no problems.

If you have the factory rails, the rail grabbers should be good. I didnt want to spend that much money on the rails so i just got the generic landing pads and drilled into my roof. Granted i realize drilling through a brand new truck might not be your game. I have a picture of what it looks like in my build thread
