I've taken my CRF450X up to summit county a couple times this summer. In fact, I'm taking up again this weekend. My wife and I camp along the Swan River and I ride from there. Since I'm riding solo, I tend to take it easy and avoid risks. I don't want to be on the news. But, there are enough connecting trails up there that I can get to lots of places without tags.

Sure, though this weekend I'm going down to southern NM to go riding and after that the KTM's getting a top-end.

    Working on it.
I ride a 2015 KTM 450 SXF. Pretty much just ride and race on a track. Not much trail stuff.

I ride a 2002 WR250F that's never seen a track. I LOVE the bush, and in more ways than one...

I recognize that "Big Red Pig" in the back of the truck. I had an 2007 XR650L for a long time. I used to commute in it AND ride some gnarly high passes. Finally sold it for something 150 pounds lighter. Love my CRF450x but sometimes, I miss the old pig.

Close, It's actually an old '91 Yamaha XT 350. Still a pig but it gets me through everything.

If anyone wants to come up to Rampart after work during the week I'm down for riding when there's less people. I'm camping up there and get back to camp around 18:00 during the work week.

Can anyone recommend a decent bike with regard to cc's that would be good for mountain trails? I dont want to spend a ton if i can avoid that.

Depends on your riding style. If you're not trying to win a race, then even if your a chunker like me, a 250 will get you most places. My 450 is way more than I need at 250#. (But I do love it. :D)
