Hey fellas, I'm having a pretty serious leaking issue with my Revolver X2. There's a lot of seepage on the sides, but I think that is attributable to the rubber seals not yet having set properly and conformed to the rails because it's been below freezing since I installed the thing! The real issue I am having is with the tailgate. The entire thing was soaked inside, and, while I know some will get in because I haven't installed a seal yet, there was too much for it to just be leaking around the edges. So, I investigated and found out that the rubber seal inside on the cover is not meeting the tailgate. The rails themselves are in the proper position: the stops are aligned hitting the front of the bed as they are supposed to. I thought that perhaps the cover was out of alignment front to back, but the seals meet up perfectly with the ends of the rails. Is there supposed to be a seal on the tailgate too? I didn't see one illustrated in the instructions. Attached is a picture of the gap. You can see the rounded gasket inside missing the tailgate by a good half inch or so. Any advice would be appreciated.

It rained very heavy today, so I figured I'd peek in and see if the side rails were sealing any better with the new replacement weatherstripping. It's no better than before.
If anyone wants to buy it from me, let me know....no low ballers though- it wasn't cheap, and I'm sure someone will have more patience getting it sealed up than me. It's the short bed model. I still have the original box for it. Going to see if the dealer will let me return it as well.

I may go with a cap instead... or may just leave the bed open, it'll make this Ham Radio operator's life easier when it comes to mounting antennas.

Just posted at the same time as you...mine does not seal at the tailgate either. The entire bed looks like it was out in the rain(like the cover wasn't on). Other than keeping things secure from theft, this cover does nothing.

Your post is exactly the same thing I'm experiencing. I was one of the people on the group buy and got mine last week. I installed it right before the snow and rain hit this past weekend and I checked the bed this morning to see how well it fared. Fortunately/unfortunately, it did pretty well but there was definitely light seepage down the sides more from the back near the tailgate. I do remember closing it up with some snow in there from the night before so it could have been just melted water (it got up to about 50 degrees today), but I know what you mean.

I love the cover's functionality and overall the install was a PITA with the vague instructions on how to line it up properly for the new '16 models. However, I'm satisfied as I knew coming in that no cover is 100% waterproof and I tempered my expectations considering the forum's feedback on the crappy seals (with the '16 bed slightly rounding inward towards the tailgate). I too, had to reseat the rail seals to curve inward in order to seat properly.

Not sure if this would help your situation any, but I'm looking into this tailgate seal by Extang (sold on Amazon):
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...rue&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_4&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
(its for generic application and at least will seal the bottom part of the tailgate and sides)

    and

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...rue&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_3&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
(I'm gonna sparingly use some of this clear silicone sealant on the areas where the seals are coming off the rail due to improper fitment at the back)

I know we shouldn't have to be doing this considering how much the cover costs, I'm fine with doing some spot treatment to help with the slight leakage at the corners and sides. Worth a shot for under $30. Hope this helps.

here is one place the revolver x2 should be better. on your F1 or G2 the side seals go all the way to the end of the front seal. The X2 side seal stops like other pics show, creating a nice spot for water to come in the front corner.

looks like you just have it installed too far forward. I played around with adjusting mine quite a bit to make sure I got a good seal all around.

I agree, I looked at it this morning and figured how to adjust it. I'll take adjusted pics when I can. Thanks for the input.

So I fixed the gap by sliding the entire cover forward, at least that is taken care of. Next, I need to get some of this black silicone to seal the back edges near the front of the cab. Still working on a way to seal things at the tailgate, in addition to the tailgate seal itself. I also just ordered black silicone sealant as well as the ROK BLOCK tailgate flap and side seals for the tailgate. I'll get pictures and let everyone know how it works. For the tailgate, I am going to try something different: I am going to coat the top of the tailgate with a thin coat of vaseline, and then use the silicone sealant to bridge the gap between the flap seal and the tailgate. Once it is dry, I can get rid of the vaseline, and the silicone should be stuck only to the cover seal in the exact shape that it will need to keep most of the water out.

I finally got around to taking a hair dryer to the rubber flaps along the sides of my X2. I took my time and got them nice and flush. I have no idea yet if it will help with water penetration, but it looks really nice!

I just installed Fibermax and everything fits great. One exception is the rail up against cab in corners. Theres a small hole on each side. The square weatherstripping (that goes on each end of rail) should have been made bigger. This would have filled hole completely. Its minor,im gonna pick up black rtv and fill. Other then these 2 spots cover is water tight. Very happy with final product. Just a small tweak from BAK and it would be perfect....

Revolver X2 installed. Put 303 on top and water runs right off and into the bed. It looks great but will be working on making it more water tight when it warms up around here.

Spotted Cow only sold in Wisconsin. I'd be happy to share if you want to brave the cold weather. Better yet I could use some warm sunny weather. Bay Area, not Green Bay I hope. :drunk:

New Glarus brewery makes it. Next favorite beer is from your neck of the woods, Ale Smith Wee Heavy. That's some good nectar. Stay thirsty my friend.
