hey guys, so for some reason, my daytime running lights (the amber lights on the outside of the headlight assembly) wont turn on when I turn the switch to the first position, this is also causing the accessory lights on the dash to not turn on as well. I have a 2015 TRD sport. I checked fuses and they're all good...what else could it be?

Dash lights don't turn on in that position.

    There is 4 positions.

3 & 4 are dash lights, 3 being DRL, tail lights and dash lights. 4 being headlights, tail lights and dash lights.

1 is all off. 2 is DRL only.

Do the DRLs come on in position 3?

You don't have DRLs. You have off, parking lights, and headlights

Also, I forgot to mention, even after taking the e-brake off and driving, said lights still wouldn't come on...

I thought they were DRLs when I had my Tacoma also. They are for use in parking lots apparently to avoid collisions at low speed. Still should come on when clicked. I don't know why they arent

If I start mine in the super cold and it's already set in the DRL setting they don't turn on. Then after cycling the lights, the drl's still don't turn on. If I turn off the truck and start it in another light setting, the drl's start working again. Tacomas just do wierd shit sometimes.......

On my 2013 the DRLs are the inner amber lights on the headlights. When I turn knob to drl setting just those go on. No dash lights. Second setting is what I considered parking lights, which are the inner and outer amber lights and dash lights. In original post you said outer amber lights dont go on with drl setting, neither do mine thats normal.

Canadian truck? Not that it matters much, but I think US trucks have 4 positions, one is labeled "DRL" so that should confirm that you even have the option. Canadian trucks don't have the position that turns them off, IIRC.

Check your turn signals and hazard flasher functionality. There's a fuse under the hood for these, that also says instrument/gauge that could be your culprit.

I have bulbs for DRL and they don’t work. My switch has 3 settings only. Off parking lights with dash lights and headlights.
I am baffled why they don’t work. 2010 TRD Sport

Believe same as my 2009 where DRL bulbs are the same as the blinker bulbs so pull them out and see if that element is burned out.
Think there is a switch that the parking brake activates when it is released/off so that also could be bad or misaligned.
DRLs work with the headlight switch off on mine. That's all I got.
