I have read previous "gentleman" state that they plan on plugging into the bed outlet. This will be my plan for long road trips that will require an over night or two.

    1. Should I use a power strip?
    2. If I plan to start the truck (auto starter) for a bit to get a "quick recharge" of my battery. How long is long enough?

Why would you need a power strip?

The inverter is a very inefficient way of powering the fridge. If you run a 12v socket off your starter battery it will draw less from your battery. Also keep in mind that your ignition would have to be in the "on" position for your inverter to work.

In my opinion, the 120v outlet would work fine while driving but it would become a hassle for overnight use. Wire a 12v socket and be done with it.

Just look at the build thread
I hate the normal 12v Hella plugs so I'm planning on running some 10ga wire from the battery back to the cargo area and using Anderson PowerPole connectors.

Ok... now that we all have them.. how are we planning to modify/use them?

My ideas so far, are a divider of the corrugated plastic for sale signs to keep the bottom cooler(freezer) than the top (fridge). May use adhesive to make a ledge for that divider to sit on, maybe different levels. Also thinking about using that same stuff to make little square dividers for cans/bottles. Dont want them rattling around anymore and getting all fiesty when you open them up. I need to start cleaning up the road shoulders of said signs. Although I guess if its going to be next to my food, I should just buy some from the store. :)

I have ordered a new latch and hinges to have it open the other way as well, and those'll be here on Thursday as well. Thursday night may be fridge mod night.

Looking for a good thermometer, doesn't really need to be wireless, but I would like it to have two sensors, one for my frozen section, one for the fridge. Probably just get one with the probes and drill a hole and mount it on the fridge.

Looks like you have non-metal armor shit on your $20k+ toy... :D

Its a blank slate, that needs customizing. Like everything... IMO. Maybe thats my problem. :bananadead:

Yes, I searched the thread and found a few, but main thing I want is dual temps since I plan to make sure that I achieve that one way or another. Also I found nice wireless ones, but most have reviews of being battery hogs. If they run all the time, replacing batteries will get old fast. So something that is either wired, or battery but only checks the temp when you push a button or something would be ideal.

I ordered the top link. Mainly since it had the two sensors for one, should be here Friday I hope. I was going to go with the last one since solar sounds great... but to checkout you have to register and it popped up with a 6 step process which I did not feel like doing.

There are a lot of other options on the Thermoworks website, they have some cool stuff.

Since it'll be mounted in my back seat, I'll mount it on the front so I can easily see it.

Edit: Just realized the fridge will be here tomorrow. I never know what day it is... didnt think it was going to be here until Thursday for some reason.

Who's planning on building a slide for theirs?
I wasn't originally going to order the mounting plate but decided why not at that price. Seems like a lot of others ordered the mounting plate too.
Are you guys planning on building a slide out of yours or are you using it just as a mount?

I think the mounting bracket was so popular we ran them out of stock.

I don't think there is a fridge & freezer section. The whole unit is used as either or!

    Right? Wrong?
