I have a 2015 Tacoma, 10,000 miles on it. In the last month it has been creating a burning smell like rubber from the rear wheel area on both the driver and passenger side. We live in a snowy place. I put it in and out of 4WD depending on how deep the snow is and how slippery it is. The smell appears at any time, in 4WD or 2WD, snowy, wet or dry roads, it doesn't seem to matter. Any ideas anyone?

Is the exhaust touching the spare tire?

Does it have a leaking axle seal?

    Has it been undercoated?

    Tires properly inflated?

    E brake stuck on?

2015. Have you asked the dealer to look at it under warranty?

Check for a leaking pinion seal. When those go they splatter 90w on your exhaust. Horrible smell!
