I am closing in on my funding for a Pelfreybilt bumper and I would like to do the lights at the same time. I am currently considering an SR2 20" combo(hyperspot/driving) in the 20" lightbar slot and a set of D2 driving lights in the fog light holes. The pelfreybilt slot will only fit a single row 20" light bar.

I want's these to compliment my other lights. I have a set of FX-R 3" HID's ready for retrofit. These will be ready as soon as I find the time to do the retrofit. Ideally before the bumper goes on.

    Possible future upgrades:
    • I also may add additional lights to the center hoop on the bumper or behind the grill. Possibly 2/3/4 HID's or another LED lightbar.
    • I may add ditch lights, probably another set of d2's.
    • There is currently no plan for a roof mounted light.

The lights will mainly be used for doing some mild to intermediate crawling and medium to fast speed dirt trails. Nothing super aggressive at night.

The only certain is the pelfreybilt bumper. I am open to all other suggestions.

Any comments or recommendations to help me put together a really great lighting solution for my truck?

I used the images from rigid's website to overlay the spreads of the D2 driving and SR2 combo.

Is there a real difference between the SAE Fog Lights and the D2s?

I.e. If it's dark I want to run something on the road that won't completely blind other drivers and/or get me pulled over how much dimmer are the SAE compared to the D2s?

I'm not sure. Maybe you replied to the wrong thread.

I ended up with Baja Designs Squadron Pro's and a Baja Designs Onx6 20". I would definitely not use them on road. But, off road they are amazing.

My honest opinion is that you should really never run off road lights while on road. If you think you want to run an auxiliary light with people on the road I would definitely get the SAE's. These off road lights are just too blindingly bright to safely use on road.
