hey tacomaworld. I am planning on getting a 2016 SR5 with apperance package, although I do not like the stock (245) tires much. I was wondering, could I buy my ko2 tires now, and have them take money off the negotiation price for me handing over the stock tires once performing a changover. Thanks for your imput.

I can´t speak for all dealers, but I know my local dealers don´t work like that. They would be happy to swap them for you, for a fee, and you keep the stock ones. They don´t buy anything back. Also, I don´t want to get in your business, but by the time you get the ¨appearance package¨, you are close to buying a Sport or OR, plus some extra features.

Now that's not true. I certainly would have offered a customer a credit for some brand new tires. Maybe that's why I keep getting blown out of dealerships though!

In all seriousness, it depends who it is and how you ask. And don't try and negotiate what they offer you, take that amount or leave it.

You may find that even with buy back programs, you can get more money selling your tires on craigslist with some patience. Especially if they've got 5 miles on them.

I asked this at my local dealership, they offered me $100 CAD for all 4 of my brand new takeoff tires. I went to a local tire shop that sells used tires and they offered me $100/each for the stock tires on trade-up to some new ones. I thought that was a pretty good deal with less stress than Kijiji/Craigslist sale, so I took that offer.

Ugh, that's just stupidity on the dealers part. I'm sure you would have taken $250 if they had offered it to you up front. Then they could have slapped them on a used truck and saved a nickle.

And then in true dealership fashion, when I emailed them saying I had a much more competitive quote and asked if they could match that price they just never responded. Classic.

I just told my dealer that I would not take delivery of my truck until it had BFG KO2 E rated tires on it. Also told them I was not paying over invoice for a truck that I have been waiting 6 months for. They said ok to that and gave it to me in writing and a hand shake.

Manual transmission DCSB OR in Texas...want a manual in Texas you gotta wait. Called every dealer within 300 miles and asked when they were allotted a 7545 and went with the soonest one.

Crazy. I drove through the Grapevine Toyota dealership a couple of days ago. Not a single 2016 Tacoma on the lot. I'm pretty surprised by this. It isn't like they are all over the streets here.

Plant is in Texas so it is last on the list is my theory on the lack of Tacomas in Texas.

Thanks but no thanks that one has the tech package and that means it has the sun roof.. Don't need a leaky roof and that color is :barf: ... I'll wait for my stripped down quicksand OR.
