hello everyone, im new and dont know what to do! Just bought a black 15 Trd Pro with 14k on it, but need some help figuring out how to properly upgrade my rear leafs. Im good with the TRD Pro shocks, and wont be swapping them out anytime soon, but after doing some research on here. Iv read the factory leafs dont seems to hold much weight. i understand im not driving a Tundra anymore, but still have things to haul plus putting a bed cap on. For instance.....we have 2 Ducati 848 we track on a trailer plus support gear. or 2 hunting quads on a trailer plus camping kit. im already planning on Toytec front 1"spacers, but not sure what the consensus from experienced guys on which leaf pack to get vs tow weight. looking to do this in the next week, track season is around the corner.....also side note***** i have a rigid 50" led bar with socal mounts, does anyone in the Norfolk/Virgina Beach have a suggestion for a install shop??

    Thnx all

I'm not positive on the rear shock length with the trd pro since they don't really put the specs out there but I'm sure you could add a progressive add a leaf like icon or wheelers or headsstrong has available. You could always add airbags for hauling

The shock length was a concern of mine also, i couldn't find any shock specs...and my google Fu is strong. im starting to think getting a Pro may hinder me in the future financially, swapping suspension parts out to get what i want.

Generally how it works. OEM parts will always be OEM parts.

I wouldn't get a 3 leaf AAL like mentioned above, been there, done that. It won't be enough.

I would get RideRite bags or a full replacement leaf pack like OME Dakars and some extended length shocks.

Anything less will not get you where you want to be. It took me 2 suspension setups to figure out what you're asking now.

are you running Riderite bags?...let me run this past you since you spent the cash for my benefit...Pro front shocks with toytec spacer - Rear Pro shocks with bags..you think that will work for a while? i really dont want to gut this thing out for a year or 2. im usually a buy once cry once guy, but have made some purchases lately and need to recover.

    No.

I opted to replace the full leaf pack instead but mainly because I was trying to justify replacing the crappy OEM leafs.

I had the 3 leaf AAL and then bought a shell which made them essentially useless if I had any weight in the bed or on the ass end. They're not intended for that use, really. The 1.5" lift quote is on a stock truck with no shell. Shell weight takes almost all of that away, not including additional load.

RideRites will bolt in your existing setup and be under $400 and installed with basic tools in your driveway in an afternoon. Get the Daystar cradles also - RideRites are unde $300 and the cradles are somewhere in the $60-80 range IIRC.

I spent about $1300 on my setup, and need another $375 on top of that to be "finished."

RideRites are a super attractive option and that's what I would suggest. In fact, I have suggested it to several who have gotten them and love them. One guy just 2 weeks ago or so but I don't recall his name.

There's a big thread here devoted solely to RideRites, and @wanna taco just tossed his in (and a set for his sons Tacoma) a few months back and he's been helpful also.

Bags will work until you don't want them to any longer. Lot of guys have had them on for over a decade and have no problems.

They're a good product, and a cost effective solution for anyone with a constant load, hauling or towing needs.

You have all three, so it really is almost ideal for you, IMO.

Definitely unnecessary, but don't let that stop you from having fun.

@DCSBFTMFW has pretty much told you everything you need to know about RideRites, but I'll add my 2¢ here also: Bags can and will fully support the ass end of your fully loaded truck, to a lift height well above the stance of an empty truck. Pressurize the bags to suit your ride comfort. I keep a $39 portable air pump behind the seat for use in the field to raise the ride height as required.
