I searched and didn't find this. I'm curious what percentage of 3rd gen Tacoma's actually ship with the manual transmission.

I know this poll would not be representative of the actual market - enthusiast forum etc. but it would still be interesting.

When I went looking at Tacomas, the only manual I could test drive was an AC Sport, base model. I drove a DCORAT as well and eventually ordered an DCORMT. I may see it in April. I could have driven an auto off the lot all day long.

Was going to break it down further into 2WD or 4WD but it looks like 2WD only comes in Auto. That may skew the results further so I separated them. Correct me if I'm wrong and I'll edit the poll.

I would have loved to have a MT, but I'm married and despite my best efforts at teaching her, the Mrs. refused to learn to drive a MT. So AT it is.

On cars.com, 5% of available Tacomas have Manual Transmissions.

    334 Manuals and 5860 Automatics.

Of the Automatics, 39% are 2WD.

When I met my wife, she drove a 5 speed GTI. My first daughter starts learning to drive this year and she won't be learning with an AT. In fact my wife won't let me start teaching her until she can change oil and a tire.

I couldn't tell you a percentage but I can tell you it's not very much. When I bought my '12 it was brought in from another dealer and was only 1 of 5 manuals in the country at the time, and 1 of 1 that was a 4x4 manual TRD sport.
