I picked these wheels up for $40 bucks a piece. I had some Klean Strip Stripper that I bought, opened and used on a mountain bike project like two years ago, on my shelf. It took them right back to new looking but it also took the clear coat. It only etched and bubbled the grey powder on the insides of the spokes. So the question is: Does that type of stripper become less potent over time, after opening? Repeat applications have not taken the rest of the powder off. I'd really like get the remaining powder off and put Glisten (by POR-15) on them. Should I pick up a new can of the Stripper? Another brand? The stuff's a little pricy and messy to keep using if it's never going to do the trick. I remember that it worked fantastic on the powder coated mountain bike though when it was fresh.

Google'd how to remove the powder coat. B17 seems to be the best method.

If anyone is interested, I've just found a place in Maryland that'll B17 strip and powder these in Anthracite / Gun Metal for 75 bucks. I dropped mine off and I'll post pics when they're back and on my truck. The Klean Strip method was just too time consuming and tedious.
