I hate dealerships...such a huge PITA. 30 years of driving vehicles, multiple makes and models,...not once have I ever left satisfied with the service and always with some sort of run-a-round, lame excuses, ineptness, and getting my checkbook "raped" for 3-4X the money I expected. Unless the vehicle, somehow, has had some sort of "catastrophic failure", the typical response is "It's normal behavior." or "We test drove it and can't find anything wrong."...come pick up your vehicle.

Certain complaints are just that way. But I do my best to find the issue a customer is complaining about. Have them show me, ride with me, etc

I just don't want to be given the run around on a truck I just spent a lot of money on. The tech was very nice and said he could feel exactly what I was describing and took a ride with me. It's odd too because I tried another truck from another dealer and the brake doesn't do what it's doing in my truck. I'll update on Monday/Tuesday when I hear back from the dealership, they tell me everything is function fine but they say the vibration shouldn't be felt like I'm feeling in my truck.

I took mine in for the same issue today; felt like I was driving on a gravel road when I'd brake from 10 mph to 0 mph. The tech said dust and dirt had gotten in rear drums and he cleaned them out and re-greased. I'll let y'all know how it drives after a few days, but so far I'm happy with the repair.

It is funny how nice they are to you when you are shopping for a ride and they go out of the way to just about kiss your azz if they think they can land a deal. . Once they have made the deal it is like who did you say you were.....You will have to schedule an appointment with us for that...The next appointment is two weeks away.

I remember when I brought my Sport 2006 and i scheduled my truck for a oil change and brought it in at 8:00 that morning. I called them back at 1:00 to see if my truck was ready. The manager said yours is next in line. I called them back at 3:30 and he told me we are pulling tours into the bay right now. I told him I will be there at 5:30 to pick it up. I got there at 5:45 and ask the clerk is my truck ready she went to check and it took her about 15 minutes before she came back. She told me they are working on it now. Working on it NOW...my god. So here I am standing around waiting to be called. I decided to step out the back door and YO and behold there was my truck with some dealership shop guy that you could tell he did not know what he was doing. The manager came and said we will have your truck ready for you in five minutes. I watch this guy putting oil in my engine and he got oil dripping all over the engine. At that point I was mad as hell and the manager could see it. The manager then told me we will take off 20% becuase we had you waiting all day. Needless to say I never took my truck back to that dealership.

My TRD OR does the same thing at lower speeds. Feels as if the rotor is warped. I just picked it up and just hit 200 miles.

I'm glad (but also not glad) to hear that other people are encountering the same issue.

I still haven't had a chance to take my truck in yet because of work, but will keep everyone posted on my findings after I do. If anyone else hears anything else from the dealer, please do keep us all informed as well :)

My '16 DCSB TRD OR vibrates and lightly shudders while slowing from 20 to 10mph as well. I initially thought it was a warped rotor so had field tech look at it, twice. I am told it's driveline vibration and the rear departure angle is out of spec and Toyota is working on a solution, possibly shims. That is all they told me. My dealership refuses to provide exact components with measurements as I am about to swap out suspension. I really need to know if the lift will fix or compound the problem. Working now with Toyota corporate case manager to get information and time frame to the fix.

My 16 Sport has the same vibration and shudder. I got the " it's normal" from the dealership last week.

I have the same issue. It doesn't feel like a warped rotor, but almost like my foot is catching on something as I push the brake pedal. It's very slight, but I don't notice anything abnormal about the braking, just the slight vibration for a second or two. If anything, I think the brakes are pretty damn grabby, and after 800 miles they are slowly starting to feel better... but just a little more pressure and the truck rocks like a bronco as the brakes catch. I guess it's better than the alternative, so I probably shouldn't bitch about it, lol.

20-15 mph while braking for me....sub'd for any solutions from the dealer. I will be sure to bring this up again at the 5000 mile service and take another one for a test drive to compare.

Glad I'm not the only one experiencing this "issue". More annoying than anything. Hopefully there will be a fix to this soon. If anyone has a successful trip to the dealership with this issue let us know!

Hey everyone who is affected by this issue, make sure to call Toyota Customer Care 1-800-331-4331

I have a case open with them specifically for this issue and for vibration when accelerating. The case manager said encourage all who are affected to call in and open a case. If not, Toyota will not know its a widespread issue.

Has anyone else noticed that the majority of complaints on this issue are from '16 TRD 4x4 Offroad models? According to the above post, rear departure angle is out of spec and Toyota may repair it using shims. Maybe they got a bad batch of driveshafts that were installed on some TRD Off-road models? I am at my wits end. I love my truck but this vibration is driving me nuts and is depriving me of the joy of driving a new vehicle. Hope they find a fix soon! OK......I'll stop whining now. :help:

I took mine into Toyota and it was a hassle.

Before I took it in, the representative/director stated that he drove other similar models (TRD Off-Road) and was able to detect the same symptoms.

When I took my truck in and got it back a week later, the paperwork stated that they COULD NOT FIND THE ISSUE. I told them I would demonstrate it to them on the spot. After arguing and then talking with the manager, they finally changed the paperwork to state that the symptom was found on my truck and that the vehicle is functioning normally. This is written on paper by the dealership.

If any one of you has this issue, make sure they document it on your paperwork and keep a copy. Don't let them brush this off. Don't accept your truck back until it's fixed or until it's documented correctly.

I've been told it's characteristic of the vehicle. The brakes pulsate and buzz. If you are in a quiet place you can hear something actuating.

Toyota thinks this is okay and normal. (It's not either of those things.)

Please open a case with corporate and fill out your buyer survey accordingly.
Let's get some of this shit fixed.

Its the electric brake booster as TRD OR have electric vs vacuum boosters. This has been discussed before.

My brakes do the same thing. Occasionally they will 'click' or 'pop' ever so slightly back up towards my foot. Also, every time I put my foot on the brake pedal, there is an audible "hiss" or "psst" sound. My brakes are EXTREMELY sensitive. My boss has a 3rd gen Access cab and his brakes are nowhere near as sensitive as mine....does anyone else have extremely sensitive brakes?
