How does your trd exhaust sound in the cab. Is it very much louder than stock?

1st i had a magnaflow welded into my stock pipes. it was loud in the cab. I liked it. I didnt like the look of the welds . I got the trd catback . Its not as loud in the cab as my magnaflow. At cruising ,40 mph ,its a little louder than stock. I like it. feels like a full size.

It can be cut to fit . Your gonna have to pay a muffler shop to cut it to fit. Weigh that in with the money you pay for the cat back. Not sure of what its on sale for. Part of the reason i went with the trd is because it comes in one long piece. No muffler shop welds.

well im getting it for $250. I know but its hard finding a trd exhaust around here. thats why i rather go for it n get it.. theres someone here on the tw that is selling one but for $300 but he lives in texas. its like 12 hrs drive total.i dont want to do that.. too much for me.. just to cut n weld i dont think they would charge me a lot.

Does the trd exhaust (cat back) reduce restriction to flow and compared to others? I checked at the toyota dealer today and they said the trd cat back for $710 installed or they will sell it to me and I can install it to save around $170. On my '07 I had a magnaflow welded in for $132 at the local shop. I put the AFE drop-in (dry) air filter in today. Tried running mid-grade unleaded to see if it got any better mileage; my truck got about another mpg but it just turned over a thousand miles on the odometer so that could be due to normal wearing-in of everything.

The guy at the parts counter said one thing a lot of guys don't think about with other exhaust is that they might end up frying the cats...said that had happened on a few trucks over the years. There can be a lot of variables associated with this happening though...can't see how just a cat-back (or muffler) change alone could cause this?

A cat back exhaust, as long as its not creating more restriction, wont burn out the cats.
