Anyone required to wear safety shoes??

    Steel toe?
    Composite toe?

If so, what's comfortable for a minimum 10 hour workday?

I had steel toe, non-slip boots with a minor heel from Red Wing Boots. Longest days were 17 hours and didn't feel too bad afterward.

Later worked in a grocery store and had to wear safety shoes with non slip soles, they sucked after 30 minutes.

What kind of needs do you have outside of toe protection?

None really. Anti slip would be a bonus. Sturdy toe and comfort is best! My feet already hurt! :annoyed:

Stop by a Red Wing boots store in your area and see if anything fits the bill.

They're all I've worn and while working a lot of hours on your feet never ends up feeling good, mine don't complain much.

Been wearing steel toes for 23 years.....best overall has been Georgia boots. Stiff when new but once they're broken in, it's like a bedroom slipper. Always heard good things about Red Wing also but never tried a pair. Recently tried 2 pairs of Keen (high $$ boots). Very comfortable & water proof but the soles are very, very slippery.

I have had redwings but they would cut into my pinki toe when kneeling. The best boots I have had where Lee Hi with composite toe cup. Lighter that steel and not as cold in the winter. They have a generous toe box and the heel insole extends in to the heel box at least 3/4 inch of heel padding. Supper comfortable.

Everyone is going to like different boots because everyone's feet are different but I must also vote for Red Wing. I am on my 4th pair and love them. Even when they are new they don't hurt my feet, no break-in needed. I wear mine anywhere from 9-14 hours a day without issue.

Been wearing all types and brands for 30+ years. Your comfort level depend on the insole, that's where most mfgs cut corners. Regardless of the brand of shoe, replace the insoles. I wear Timberline Pro w/anti fatigue, and a puncture resistant sole and replaced the insole with a running insole.

.. all insoles that are EVA foam suck. Including running insoles. Buy some PU foam insoles if you want to buy something.

I got these and although they fit and they're comfortable they're large and bulky. I only use them when I absolutely have to in the dead of winter:

I use Vasque Mantra GTX for ultra flexible roof grip:

And lastly for my standard work boot I have a pair of Merrell boots in Gore-Tex. Water protection and shoe grip is my number one priority followed by flexibility.

    PS: I'm a chimney sweep.

I had Timberland PRO with titanium toe. They were the lightest and most comfortable workboot I've ever owned, and very waterproof. But like all my other shoes and boots, they developed a crack in the sole across the ball of each foot after about a year. Moved to Redwing which are super durable, but stiff and heavy even after a year.
