I had my tranny fluid flushed today. 11 Tacoma V6 87,000 miles, dealer DCH TOYOTA Wappinger NY $237. It was a full 12 quart flush. They gave me a sample of my old oil to send to Blackstone. I don't know crap about what tranny fluid should look or smell like, but the old fluid has strong gas like odor. I will check back with the analysis report.

It should be a really nice red/pink and not have any weird odor to it. If it comes out black or something, probably do enough hauling and towing to do a flush more often.

PS The is a pretty bad price for a full flush. I'd go to someone else other than a dealer next time.

Shouldnt smell anything like gasoline. Sure they gave you tranny oil and not motor oil. Ive dealt with DCH in Wappingers in the past and dont trust them. Bunch of idiots.

No it's tranny oil. I've been happy with their service. I'm a very demanding person and they have treated me extremely fair. To be more accurate the WS ATF has a strong chemical smell.

For my info what is a good price? I've had stealers quote me anywhere from 235 up to 383 the lower was a full pan drop inspection etc, the higher a flush fill. Local small shop guy quoted $175. I'm also concerned picking someone who won't get the fluid level correct.

My local shop will charge me $170 for a full flush.

Filling the fluid properly is easy. It's checking the fluid when your fluid is hot is where you need special equipment. When you fill it the fluid has not expanded so should be easy to fill to where needed. As long as the shop does an actual flush, I'm not worried about it. But that's just me.
    I have a local shop I trust.

The fill level is adjusted at temp, not cold
