It is possible and I have done it. Fuck those things. I welded a big ass nut to mine. Had too. Worked like a charm after the 4th attempt.

Yea wasn't fun. One of the many issues I had when regearing my own gears..

I changed my spark plugs. 156K miles and they were probably the originals. For some reason I recall checking them and seeing a splitfire plug in there but I didn't see that when I changed them. Mic'd them and they measured 53 for the NGK and closer to 63 for the Densos. Interesting that the Densos were so much thinner. Replaced with Toyota plugs I purchased a while ago and never took the time to replace. Oh and I bought gas the other day. too.

Same here. HOAs are bullshit. The only people, I've noticed, who like them are uptight yuppies. Realistically, people should have courtesy and not make your house an eyesore for the neighborhood and don't make a constant racket. I can understand not wanting a torn apart "long term" project sitting in the driveway or piles of trash in the yard or some guy who straight pipes his V8 and constantly blasts music but a guy working on his truck for a few days should be no issue at all.

Ridiculous. He wants to build a small shop, which will make his property look far neater than any alternative, on his land, and some loophole loving hardass has to give him a hard time. This shit gets on my nerves. What's the point of owning land if I can't reasonably do what I want with it?

Replaced the Washer bottle, not to hard, Replace rear shocks, the right rear was PITA. Rplacee the center rear seat belt assembly, Puppy chew up the belt 6 years ago. Looked at replacing rear spring bushings, have the bushing need more time for that project. Have front shocks/struts to replace, will probably take them off and pay a shop to compress spring and replace the strut. Have the left front inner belt to replace current one with a bad receptacle, can't release the belt without a hassle. Upcoming projects, Valve cover gaskets, new plug and wires, Sway bar bushings, steering rack bushings. Last will be replacing Drivers front seat cover, found OEM covers, also repaint tailgate. I also cut the back lawn and cleaned up the yard then watched the Nationwide NASCAR Race then took dogs to dog park. Came back had a glass of wine while waiting for dinner, woke up 32.5 hours later. Busy day.

Finally finished my grill mod. The Duplicoloc match for Lunar Mist didn't exactly match, but looks better than fading plastic chrome.
:dancingbacon: <-- is that a dancing piece of bacon?

Yesterday I took it on some road that is technically a public road with a name, but it's so poorly maintained, it felt like super light offroading. Half the road is not paved and most of the what is paved hasn't been taken care of in probably longer than I've been alive. Pretty much all of the road is full of holes and dips and I was going so slow on some parts that I had to shift into 1st. Really shitty road. Had my father and uncle with me. It's was like baby's first offroading...sort of. Good day.

Later that night, a cop informed me a headlight was out. So today I decided to try Silverstar ZXE bulbs. Costlier than I was planning on spending, and I hear they don't last, but oh well. They're certainly whiter and appear brighter. I will see tonight. Hoping they're at least a step above the basic halogens that were in the truck. It'd be nice if they held out until I can afford retros.

Yes to my front suspension set up. And no extended travel just the coils and bilstein shocks set on 0. Steering is somewhat lighter than it was before but I can still feel the road. I took a trip doing 80 one time and hardly any steering wheel twitch. When the wind is blowing hard on my truck it does push me.

Wind is the main cause of swerving for me when driving. Tacomas just aren't heavy enough to make up for all their surface area!

Yes! Make sure you don't touch that with anything and be gentle with it. Spray some maf cleaner on it then let it dry. Do that a couple times and try to get it clean.
