Thanks for this post. Ordered the license plate LEDs to hopefully match the OPT7 6k LEDs I purchased for the headlights and fogs.

Sounds like you got it worked out, that's good. I was a bit pissed about the misleading instructions (same ones you found), I think I came close to causing serious damage to my room lining and/or the dome housing before I figured it out.

Yup, I would have broken something had not you responded - many thanks!

Once I followed your instructions, it was a quick and easy task to replace the bulb... I guess I should have read all 16 pages.

Next up are the back up lights and license plate lights that I already have (VLEDS).

Then I have to order the front/rear directions and stop lights from VLEDS...

Yeah, it's a PITA, but so worth it!

I have backup LEDs and the front orange side LEDs sitting in a box. The backups should be easy, but I haven't looked at how to get into the side of the headlight yet. Then I'll get VLEDs for the brake/running lights and probably Switchbacks for the front signals... but a Morimoto HID kit first!

HA - I've also got the Morimoto HID headlights and LED fog lights sitting here... I might just get lazy and pay the guy who is installing my remote start to install those since he has a heated garage!

I was wondering if either you looked at my write-up and was this the one you had issues with? was it incorrect?

now remember this is for a Double cab since the dome light is situated farther back than in an access cab and the dome light divots are actually on the front of the housing instead of the back side.

Yeah, I did, just like that. No luck. Granted it was about 40-45 degrees so not much wiggle or twisting was going on.
I'll give it another go soon on a bit warmer day.
    Thanks.

I used the $20 kit from Amazon, all of the bulbs I received work and took about 10-15 minutes to install.

So if I leave the 31mm dome light in think it'll be bad for the light at such a tight fit?

Not really bad, but it could fall out in my opinion.

Yes. I purchased these, but on ebay.
They work. Easy install, and are great!
