Back on topic here....looked at my 2015 today, and the shifter moves around quite a bit while driving. I'm thinking that road in the video is pretty shitty, and that your shifter is normal.

    ^^ This.
Took a vid of my shifter today, it moves around a lot going through some minor holes/ruts on my road:

    I think you're good.

Problem (and advantage!) with GoPro videos is they smooth out vibrations on everything. Music in that video is silly since OP is attempting to show road conditions. Sound and vibrations going on in the cab is just as important. Shifter movement looks pretty normal to me given the road conditions. Sucks having to man-up after making a big stink for no reason, but that shows character. Hope the OP can finally get to enjoying his ride. However, given what he intends to do with his brand new truck, I'd suggest getting in touch with one of the service centers with a better/friendlier reputation to find out if his truck will be covered under warranty when something breaks. That way he's mentally prepared to go pound sand when suggested by Toyota that he do so. Or...coming on here and whining about it and "getting a laywer" is an option.

    without a doubt

Even my 2004 WRX STI moved that much. 2013 Taco did as well... Oddly enough my 2004 Rubicon doesn't move as much, but still moves a lot... it's a rough surface, it looks normal to me.

I'm guessing shifters that actually go into the trans move vs FWD shifters where it connects to the transmission VIA cables

Thanks Frank. That looks like exactly what I see on my truck since I picked it up Friday. It doesn't jump out of my hand anymore, and if everyone else's truck is the same as this, then it must be normal, and I'll just get used to it.

You should update the thread title to say it's fixed.

Does anyone remember a member with a 5-Speed 2.7 3rd Gen with a similar complaint of shifter moving excessivley under acceleration? Does anyone have a link for that thread. Can't find in search.

Meh. Mine moves, so did the one in the identical truck on the lot when I was test driving. It's just a soft tranny/motor mount material.

Toyota designed a very compliant motor and transmission mount system for this truck, for whatever reason. Probably they designed the mounts for the auto trans and didn't bother to put in stiffer mounts for the 6MT, where you don't want to smooth out the jerkiness as much.

Unlike in a FWD setup the shifter is going to move side to side just as the engine does. Normal.
