I noticed my snapon modus scanner reads the trans fluid temp. But it reads temp1 and temp2 exactly the same temp. Does that meen its reading just the trans fluid pan temp?

I want to do a level check today

    Thanks for any info

So hook scanner up and drive it then I guess?

my solus does the same thing, if you idle it from cold they will climb at the same rate but if you put it in gear the converter temp climbs alot faster.

Do you have Lubegard in your tranny?
I monitor both temps and the torque convertor temp at a stop in D was always several degrees above the pan temp (usually about 10).
After putting in 12 ounces of Lubegard Red both read the same with the torque convertor temp climbing maybe 1 degree above the pan temp after an extended stop in D.

Both temps will be same while in neutral, there is no heat being generated within the convertor at that point. Do a stall test and that will change.;)
