Wet Okoles, Satoshi grill, Hella 700's hid converted, Alpine audio install, sound deadened, limo tint, 4.7 Tundra TRD Catback, 3 inch procomp, bed lights. To come TRD supercharger, roof racks, stuffing 285 70 17 trail grapplers.
Hey guys just wondering if it would even be possible to take seats out of a 2015 Highlander and install them into a 2nd gen double cab. The reason being would be to have leather and and the power creature comforts.

I was wondering the same thing, except with a King Ranch

In all seriousness, I wonder about the power seats transfer. It probably can be done but I bet you are going to have to find a way to wire the whole thing in which would include ripping out the whole floor and dash.

It would be much cheaper and save you a lot of heartache and time if you just accept that you do not have power seats, and then get after market leather like Katzkin installed.

I'm also willing to bet that you will have to have a custom shop do this, and it may impact the over all safety of the vehicle in a collision. Do you really want that seat to come loose in a wreck?

I agree. I had power seats in my 99 4Runner. Can't say I moved them more than a couple times. Certainly not enough to warrant the pain in the ass of wiring in non-stock seats. Seat heaters and leather covers are probably an easier go.

Guilty of plotting on the front seats from a Lexus GX 460. I have read about people retrofitting Tundra seats into 2nd gen Tacomas.

Keep in mind that your own insurance company will sue you if there is ever an injury accident.

LOL.. your own insurance company sue you... made me literally LOL. First, I never heard of any cause an insurance company had to sue their own policyholder. Cancel them, sure. Raise their rates, sure. But sue them... no. And if your seat comes loose in an accident and you are more seriously injured due to it, likely there would be no repercussion from the insurance company. I just evaluated an injury claim in which the driver wasn't wearing a seat belt and was struck head on, causing a huge laceration on his head, a severe concussion, and 9 fractures... femur, ribs and 3 vertebrae. We're paying our policy limits of $200,000.00. So which is more egregious, not securing your seat or just not reaching over and pulling your seat belt on ?

One thing we say around the office... we insure drivers but we also insure stupidity. And please don't take that to mean everyone that has an accident is stupid. Some accidents are very understandable and would happen to most anyone. Hell, I've had an at-fault accident myself.

I've been away(from the truck)at work for 3 weeks now. Suspected it was the truck causing my bad back. Arrived on site with back pain - nearing the end of a shift and no pain to he heard of.

I'd do anything for a better seat, within safe guidelines

I'd only swap my seats if the OEM airbags were compatible.

Otherwise you start screwing with airbag systems and resistors and I wouldn't feel comfortable doing it.
