Is it just me because I have not seen this mentioned?

I have a '16 silver sky metallic sport on order and own a '14 in the same color. One thing I noticed was that the bed looked darker then the cab on my '14. Honestly it always bugged the Sh!t out of me.

Any how, I do love the color and tonight decided to look and see if that trait was handed down to the 3rd gen. Looking through I saw several double cabs where the back door seems darker then the front. After about twenty pages in I save a couple pics, that, at least to my eyes I can see this. I'll post them here if needed.

Am I seeing things? My wife thinks I see colors different then she does so I may crazy.

Think it's just you. Didn't notice any differences with my truck. Could be angle, lighting, lotsa factors to give off a different shade of silver. The pic you posted looks like the front door is lighter than the rear door to me.

 

No you are not crazy it's the same on magnetic grey 2nd and 3rd gen you can see it between doors for sure but it didn't stop me buying the silver. But if it really bugs you get black or white

 

You do realize the 14 and 16 are different colors of silver right?

2014 is silver streak mica and is lighter in color.

 

The last of the second gen silver trucks are silver sky metallic

 

My bad...2005-2013 were silver streak, 2014-on is silver sky. I had to check it and apparently google failed me the first search!

Spent the weekend in Mammoth! (Bone stock... For now)

 

Just picked up the Trd wheels and loving it. Stock 4x4 sport suspension and 265/70/17 bfg ko2. I'm really trying to keep it all oem parts and these Trd wheels really set it off yet still toyota !

 

Nice setup there, I've had those rims in a cart for almost a week now. I planned to get them for my '14 but have a '16 coming now, The only thing stopping right now is I can't swing the truck, rims an tires all in the same month. I'm not sure how the rims will look with the stock factory tires the Sport comes with.
