So I am new to the Tacoma. Question for you guys. When I press the brake/apply the pedal I hear a noise that sounds like air being squeezed. Very similar to the sound you would have if you had some air in the brake lines.

    Normal or Not?

    Thanks in advance,
    Nick

Id be willing to bet you have a 09+ TRD off road 4x4?

If so its normal, its the electric boosted master cylinder in the truck. happened since day one on my truck.

The other trucks with vacuum assisted master cylinders might do this as well but i know for a fact the electric boosted ones do.

that would be a leak at the power brake booster.
disregard the red outlined area. the vacuum port is probably leaking into the cabin area.
eventually it will leak enough to make the pedal hard to push.

It's a 2012 Tacoma TRD Off Road. I don't remember it making the noise when I first bought the truck but I'm not sure.
